Buying a Mid Drive motor from China to UK. Tax and carrier costs

I bought a QS 273 from China about a month ago, I knew I was responsible for tax during sale which I was ok with. The motor was £402 plus £239 for FedEx 10 day delivery. The FedEx handled the tax side and they texted me a link where I can pay the tax right when it was ready for delivery. The...

Sabvoton SVMC72150M mysterious black, brown and yellow connector.

I contacted the supplier and they told me its PAS. I purchased other Sabvoton controllers and the PAS wiring was always black, white and red which is pretty standard on most controllers. For some reason this controller was different.

Hey Peoples, I wanna built a E-bike on my own.

What about using a slim stealth bomber frame as base? Modifying that seems much better than building one from scratch. The slim version is very familiar to the FUTR ebike. Here's a link to the frame...

Hey Peoples, I wanna built a E-bike on my own.

Are you trying build a e-moto or an e-bike frame? You say e-bike and the frame in the picture has bottom bracket mount but you posted this in EScooters/EMotorcycles forum.

about to purchase a sabvoton 72150 controller and had some questions

I believe when the app first came out, it was missing a lot of settings compared to the desktop app but last time I checked the mobile app had most of the settings (I believe it was missing settings related to cruise control but since your controller has display output, cruise control is not...

    DIY ebike project advice

Mid drive EEB frame has been done, I'm only aware of one thread but it required grinding down fins on the motor which is Bafang BBSHD to make it work, he's some pictures and build thread link: Enduro ebike frame documentation - Electricbike.com Ebike Forum

anyone remove an axle from a rear hub motor?

Without a press, it's going to be extremely difficult and in my opinion not worth it. Have you considered going to a local mechanic shop and asking if they have a press that you can use or pay them to press the axle out for you? They typically have them for pressing out suspension bushings and...

Looking for info on controller for my Arrow 9 ebike

I have seen controllers that use low voltage for brake sensors, typically ≤1 volt but from my experience they are not common, it's typically either ground or 12v. The easiest solution that I can think of is to use a low trigger relay to activate the brake lights, if you don't know what they are...

Need help identifying connectors and parts

Those are "Julet" connectors, in your case a 3 pin Julet male/female connectors. You can order Julet PAS and Julet Throttles from AliExpress like those examples however the pinout might be different as there's no standard. You might need to cut them and swap wires around to get the correct pin...

about to purchase a sabvoton 72150 controller and had some questions

You can get the cable from here: https://a.aliexpress.com/_mqsB3cc Regular USB cables don't appear to work. You also need to install drivers for Windows to detect the controller.

    Looking for UKC1 display software.

Please speak English as this is a primarily English speaking forum so we have to use Google Translate. But to answer your question, yes it's possible to update the display but the tools and software are currently not public. The USB port on the display has no data lines, only 5v positive and...

    Battery bms repair

The 48v is just nominal, all chargers are capable of outputting more. The max voltage depends on what chemistry the charger was designed for as different chemistries have slightly different voltage ranges, for example 48v lifepo4 battery will have higher max charge voltage (about 58v) compared...

    Battery bms repair

Maybe it's rated at 500 but can handle 750 peak? Sellers will often advertise motors with it's peak power not rated because it's a higher number and looks better on the paper.

Did a stupid: regen braking engaged when battery disconnected

Probably, if it doesn't turn on then probably 3.3v and 5v regulators are blown which are required for the controller to turn on.

Did a stupid: regen braking engaged when battery disconnected

Most likely you blew a FET or FETs. The motor was regening and producing voltage which was going into the battery, when the battery disconnected, the controller was stilled powered on by charged capacitors so it kept regening but the voltage had nowhere to go so it started blowing up components...

Looking for info on controller for my Arrow 9 ebike

It's typically two wires going into each level with the switch inside completing the circuit and connecting both wires together. They are either a 'low level' system which means one wire is ground other one is signal, when ground is connected to signal by the switch inside the lever then the...

    Regen killing displays

I'm also using UKC1 with 60A regen for 6000 miles and never had an issue. My guess would be that there's a voltage spike during regen which is too high for the display which kills it. Have you ever paid attention to voltage during regen and seen it go above 84v?

Looking for info on controller for my Arrow 9 ebike

Theoretically you could but it's possible that the 48v output is a signal output and it wasn't designed to output current or atleast high enough current to power a light. If it was me, I would play it safe and use those wires to turn on and off a high trigger signal relay that would power a...

Preventing corrosion on battery and phase terminals.

I have an issue with corrosion on my battery and motor phase terminals. The way I have my controller mounted, I can't waterproof it very well and can only prevent splashing and large amounts of water. From time to time when I'm doing basic maintenance, I'll take the terminals off and quickly...

    Field Weakening, help me understand

It is a myth, I haven't seen any evidence that is directly connected between magnets losing magnetic field and usage of flux weakening/field weakening. I think that myth comes from people pushing too much flux weakening/field weakening current, overheating the magnets causing them to lose or...

    QS205 3000w vs QS205 5000w

Everybody has the right to be suspicious when buying stuff from China especially when it comes to items advertised as genuine however there's currently no evidence that would indicate that NBP's motors are not genuine QS motors, someone even came out and said that QS authenticated and warrantied...

Dumb question: why are there e-power cutoff brakes at all?

I use brake cut off sensors for regen, I have an inline switch so I can turn them off if I want to. The cut off switches also saved my life once when salty snow got inside my throttle plug and shorted 5v throttle supply to throttle signal making the throttle stuck at max power which is scary...
