Hey Dudes,

This is a "continuation" of the problem with the hubs I ordered "open" (meaning shipped rotors in one box and covers in the other)

Anyway, seems that the bearings that were inside each side cover of the hub motor are too small (inner diameter) to fit the axle.
The current ones are shielded 6202z which are 15mm inner diameter while the axle is 16.85mm
You can see them here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/HE527-6202Z-Dual-Metal-Shields-Pair-Deep-Groove-Radial-Ball-Bearing-15x35x11mm-/272259818409?hash=item3f63f323a9:g:39IAAOSwhOVXctnO

Now, the question is, will 17mm inner diameter be a perfect fit for my 16.85mm hub axle?
and also, where can I find 17x35x11mm bearing? all I found for these measurements are some special tapered/angled bearings and these ones:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/QTY-1-17x35x11-mm-S6003-2RS-Stainless-HYBRID-CERAMIC-Ball-Bearings-BLK-6003RS-/391405059216?hash=item5b218f3c90:g:TTgAAOSwZQxW434Q
which are damn expensive because they are some hybrid ceramic alien technology bearings which don't seem to fit my simple needs.

EDIT: Found a model named 6003z that look just like mine and are really easy to get BUT they are 10mm deep instead of 11mm
Is that a problem? I read that they are used for ebike and bike axles so Maybe these are the ones that should have been on the motor in the first place?
Here they are also on eBay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/HE55-6003Z-Shieded-Deep-Groove-Ba-Bearing-17-x-35-x-10mm-A-/272238992481?hash=item3f62b55c61:g:HpMAAOSwuzRXdGJv

Any ideas?

Wow, you really did get a mis matched hub bearing and axle. Likely the axle was machined wrong.

Go to a good shop that specializes in bearings, if you have one in town. Take the whole motor, and ask them to help you choose a bearing for your motor, if one exists. Might help to remove the existing bearings from the cover, so they can measure that too. Call the place, they may have a tool to pull the bearings.

Thanks man, I just banged the crap out of them from the other side with a screw driver and the covers spit them misfitting bearings right out.
Ordered 8 new 6003z bearings ($1.43 each on eBay) which seem to be the ones that needed to be there in the first place (googled that stuff and it seems to be used for hub motors and such), they are the exact same size except one less millimeter in depth and the inner diameter is the 17mm I need.

So they just put the wrong bearing in the cover after all. That makes the fix a lot easier.
