looking to buy a kt controller. the prices of the 250w-1000w are within $10. Im thinking high power so I can use it on weak+strong bikes. logical?

Since programming the controller is the entire impetus behind purchasing it I imagine that I can just limit whatever whatever parameters I'd like to create safe conditions for whatever motor on using it with correct?

I have the lcd 3 display (which I bought before can you about display compatibility right after I killed that first controller (see below) and thought that the issue might be the goofy cheapo little non-display. now I have that and don't need to buy it.)

The only slight pain is that the thousand one controller is larger than the 250 however at $37 for the 250 and 46 for the thousand, I feel I can manage my way around that.

A long while ago on my first eBay project right before I was about to put it on the road I foolishly connected a very low power LED to a brake cable and killed the controller (ebikeling 1500w. rather nice. I have pics of the board which I will post shortly.) I thought it was the 7805 TO 92 5v supply and swapped that but I seem to be mistaken.
Before I spam this forum with the thoughts that I've been building up in my mind I thought I'd double up my questions in one of my postings to get more opinions thrown at me. in circuit testing is a pain, although I have meters (esr, multi, etc etc) oscopes, component testers, and a crapload of components I keep on hand.

I do wish that there were a couple verified PCBs that one could drop a microcontroller on, program it, surrounded with discretes and have my own serviceable controller.

Within some limitations. The KT allows adjustment of the current limit to as low as 1/2 of the controller’s rating.

C5 is the setting where you can limit the current to upto 50%
