Miles' Project 1 [eMoulton]

Nice. I'm trying to rebuild 2 Raleigh Twenty's with 451s... that was before I thought of electrifying them...

Miles,

I have a TSR myself, also grey but with caliper brakes. I'm wondering is you have described somewhere how you built the rear pulley? I know it's made from a Strida 'chainwheel' but I'm wondering how you designed and built the freewheel, especially given that it seems to fit onto the rear hub driver mechanism? Have you a drawing perhaps?

I'm also interested to know if you are aware of a more commonly available motor that would function similarly to the Planet Rider you used?

Thanks,
Savvas.

Hi Savvas,

I've used two different Strida pulley versions. The older (grey) ones had an integral fixing for a standard 16t freewheel. To mount these I milled off the freewheel's threads and used a splined 13t sprocket as an adaptor [Ref: http://www.endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=12449&p=185383#p185383 ] The newer (black) pulleys are designed to bolt directly to the RH crank. For these I machined a housing for a CSK35 clutch with four fixing tabs (see pic below). The inner keyway fixing of the CSK35 was locked to the cassette driver with a modified key.

The only motor that I can think of, as an affordable substitute, is the one that is used for the GNG kit:

As Ron said.

I bought it from Strida Nl. 8 years ago.

I had to buy it as part of the crankset. Part no. 127 & 128.
