Price of Oil hits new low

Don't write off what he's saying so quickly. Cheap oil usually has small effect on the price going down.

I'd rather we exported the oh so abundant natural gas and kept the scarcer crude oil here. Oh well.
 
Saw this report on about Morgan Stanley financial bank slash oil forcasts and I wondered if oil could actually hit the actual equivalent per ton of iron ore which is about $42 a ton..

I figured it might be like this.. so if a tonne of oil is 1 barrel ($30) x 6.5, current iron ore equivalent price is $195.

If all the oil producers got really desperate and crazy and for what ever reason decided to treat it like iron ore then to covert it to the same madness level would be 195 / 42 as the price of iron or is $42 per tonne.
So that gives us $4.6 per barrel of oil! I am sure at the very least ISIS would be fine with that price to sell at.

I been reading a lot on the web about Tesla lately and I really admired this video of Elon explaining stuff about the new Model X , what a car.. I never saw how many advantages there are to removing the ice motor etc until I saw this video.

I also noticed that Teslas stock price has hit as low as 35% lower from the start of this year.. https://goo.gl/NIZQE5

But with the price of oil and the heavy movement in Teslas stock price got me thinking about a paranoid idea behind Oils massive move down and that is that the oil producers aren't trying to just squeeze out shale gas and other higher cost producers but maybe they are secretly hoping this is their only chance to kill the electric car off from any kind of comparative viability and Teslas gigafactory as well?
 
Where can I buy a barrel of end-consumer regular octane gas?
Maybe I need to buy an old tanker trailer and park it in my backyard.
 
Should be filling the US Strategic Petroleum reserve at these prices. It would be interesting to see the dates and prices paid for the inflow/outflow of that oil. It would tell us whether it is being used for a "we the people" benefit; or for a "we the oil industry" benefit. ... as I get older, sadly, I am getting more and more cynical...
 
There's a difference between being cynical and critical bigmoose.
When pertaining to a free and democratic government, anyone finding a mindset seeking objective research of potential flaws and correlative corrections to be cynical could open their perspective a bit imo.

Lol, the idea of stockpiling gas on a personal level, although possible, reminds me of that 'always sunny' episode 'gang solves the gas crisis'. Really funny.

Gas always seems to drop right in time for election years, but this is really really low. Maybe it corresponds with possibility C* of election outcome?

C* is if obama is again president, sustained thru his declaration of marshall law. Lol, now THAT"S cynical :lol:

It's all printed money for petrol anyways doesn't matter much.... :cry:

Ma has two 500 gallon tanks at her place, one for gas and one for diesel. Gravity fed simplicity.
 
Big oil knows there is more oil in the ground than humans will continue in having interest in burning soon.

Even if you only care for yourself and not beyond this, be aware that no ICE starts combustion with a functioning catalyst system, it requires the active surfaces of the catalyst to achieve a minimum surface thermal energy to function. As a result of this, all existing ICEs (unless someone knows of any exception to share) on startup have to spray incombusted and partially combusted known carcinogenic and mutagenic solvent compounds including benzene and much more.

Things that I can't even order from lab suppliers to be shipped into California because they are considered too bio-hazardous of solvents even for accredited labs with fume hood scrubber systems doing RnD. Yet when its in gasoline or partially burned components of it, every time you start your car you're spraying this into the air around you or garage around you that you're breathing. If you're kid is walking behind your exhaust pipe and you cold start a car, maybe this acute exposure event may mean learning to enjoy the Leukemia treatment process with your kid.

Doesn't matter if your have a hybrid or PHEV or whatever, when it starts its spitting these known hazardous chemicals in known to be active dosage levels as a part of normal use. If you have a vehicle with a pure electric mode to use for leaving the driveway and getting some favorable wind to avoid poisoning yourself from the pre-catalyist-function solvent vapour spray on cold starting, you still can get cancers added to your life experiences to enjoy from breathing benzene-compound vapours while refueling.

At some point humans will conclude adding the un-needed torturous cancer death causing spray process and use sane options like EVs and LEVs with solar panels charging them.

Before this happens, big oil has only incentives to do everything possible to move as much of the product as they have to sell for this short transition period into EV market dominance where it's still socially acceptable to poison yourself the people around your vehicle during operation and refueling.
