Gday all,
I've had a cheapo eBay 1800w brushless motor kit for a while now, similar to this one
https://www.ebay.com.au/i/114051506...6jmPY37ZG-qKX7pQ1fLbTAQK90VoZkqxoCO18QAvD_BwE
I've used it a couple of times for different projects, but recently I finished a motorized esky and connected the red and black power leads to my batteries when a HUGE spark jumped the gap and scared the living hell out of me
Now I'm used to the regular spark that I would get when connecting the battery, but this one was different. I tried a few different times to power on the controller, but as I would connect the power leads the spark would be so great it would melt my copper wires, reducing them to stubs.

This obviously isn't normal behavior, and I suspect something has fried inside of my controller. What I'm wondering is would that be a MOSFET or something similar? I have the skills to replace MOSFETs or caps if necessary, just need to be pointed in the right direction.

Any help appreciated!
