Yes, pack surgery is tricky at the best of times. I always cycle test the individual cells a few times and measure the internal resistance to try and weed out duff cells before assembling a pack. So far, I've only had to do pack surgery once, and while it is tedious, it's not overly difficult...

I buy most of my stuff from Farnell's (UK) and shipping is very reasonable. I'd be very surprised if they didn't have an equivalent type of P-FET. Have you tried searching their website by parameter as needed?

You might want to try Farnell. They have distribution in Austria. Also, Ebay is worth a try.

Can you use the renderings for further work? For example importing it into SolidWorks? Can you render it with components?

Have you looked at BMX trials wheels? They are 19", even though they are called 20", and allow you to fit fat off-road tyres, and the rims tend to be stronger than bicycle ones. Something like this...

I used one like this: The front opening infrared toaster ovens are nearly impossible to get in the UK. I bought mine wholesale and it was cheap, about $30 in US dollars.

Just built a reflow oven using one of these kits: http://youtu.be/fI2esJriqzg He's a young kid whose developed it. It works well and was about $50. You just need to buy a cheap toaster oven. Makes SMD assembly MUCH easier! Recommended.

That OSH Park supply sounds very good. I usually use a more local (to me) supplier which charges 55 Euros for about the same board space. I'll have to check if they do international shipping and whether that's still economical. At the cost of OSH Park, it not even worth bread boarding anymore.
