New freeride project - LMX P1

The footpegs position is not very good on this bike indeed. I am 1m75 and i'ts OK for me but when I let taller guys ride it it looks strange! I think I got used to it.
I used my lapierre as reference for the frame, so I have about the same geometry, with footpegs at the BB position. I will change that on the LMXP2 8)
The plans are GNG big block, 20S10Ah, 15fet, single speed #219, cromo frame and alu swingarm, wide 24" rear wheel and drop 10kg over the P1. Oh and there will be two versions, one moto like with the big block and one with the small block and pedals ! :D ETA: Q3 2014

dirkdiggler,
I use a DD motor as a outruner on the P1 so the shell is spinning, I use the 6 M5 ISO dics mount for the motor sprocket.

It was raining this weekend so I rode in the parking lot :

Some news and pictures, we started doing Urbex with friends and we usually bring the moto, we took some great pictures! However this weekend I had a lot of failures on the bike, ending with a broken rear hub! My fastening method had it weakened but I thougth it would hold.

Now I need to find a new rear pit bike hub that will allow me a cleaner install of the drivetrain...
Oh and I changed the footpegs position, puting them lower and further back, wich helps a lot with the feel of the bike! I still need to work on the control side, anybody knows where to buy a maguara 5K in europe?

Does it come with the matching grip? Last tome I checked there, postage was very high. Well that's not a cheap hobby haha! I just ordered a new rear shock with compression and recoil adjustment which I hope will help the flat landings. I'm tempted to switch my rear wheel to a complete 20" oset rear setup or change to 26" front and a wide 24" rear, but I need to find a wide dual disc hub.

That sounds good. the geometrie looked short and the tail to long before.

Are you using hall sensors to control the motor? That might help a lot. A guy in the german forum is bilding his own sinus-controller(more silent than square comutation). He uses them with direktdrive Hubmotor. He seems very gifted and is using analog halls for perfekt rotorposition and start. have a look at the smooth start in the video.

The second video is his Controller with a 9c Hub:

Maybe you ask him to build you a Controller or get an old one from him. He also writes the code for his controllers, so he can do everything you like ;)

would you use an MX ord DH tyre ? the halo contra 24/26 x 3 (in fact 2.7) would wear pretty fast @your power level...you could find some trial tyres max 2.5 in 20 " but they wear pretty fast too ...don't you have an MX on the rear ? I think you should go 18" rear (85cm3 front) and a 24" with halo contra in front...
you'l need to swithc to a pit bike fork if you wanna move to dual disc hub...or make something to mount it on your fork ...
cromotor make a dual one with inverted fork

Where did you get your seat? What model?

Did you build the frame to mount the moto seat, or did you build/modify the seat to fit the frame?

This bike is one of my favorites. Sorry to hear about the recent failures.

i don t know if it is the same threads, could be helpfull if you can mount it instead of the cassette

Yes this and a normal 12mm axle dh rear hub could work! but most hubs are cassette nowdays...
I currentely use a 17" motocross front wheel and tyre as my rear wheel and a 24" with 2.7 tire front. I ordered a new cnc dirt bike hub while I figure a nice wheelset for my next project...

Thanks guys for the links to the magura throtlles ;) I'm a bit broke ATM but i'ts up next on the list !
Snow is coming here we have a video project with a friend involving LMX-towed urban freestyle skiing :p

Other news, I am tring to start importing trike motors similar to what we know as the gng motor but with a lot more copper :) will keep you guys updated

Something like that could be neat, I just need to check the diameter with a tire, My guess is that it is quite a bit smaller than my 17" setup

Not so expensive either!

I finnaly got the bike back working! The new rear wheel setup and the new shock really makes the bike "1.1" :D
We will be getting some nice pictures soon, and I'll have a new video camera to test out this weekend...

Really wish there was an easy 2hour travel from Falun to Lyon... (Lipo luggage allowed)
Haha for sure!
We took some nice pics the other day but since that I dislocated my shoulder snow-boarding last sunday... no more riding for 3 weeks and for now I can't even lift my arm!
