incase anyone is intterested i have replaced my controller completely for an infineon, and have so far logged my progress in another thread on here.

i am using the 9 fet IRFB3077 Infineon Controller For Motors With Hall Sensors from EM3EV I Bought the 9 fet as an extra precaution so that it might be more forgiving. i am using a cycle analyst so i can program in some limits i will definitely look at making a video this week. if it is not...

im not an expert but i guess both, although the bbs02 does have a temperature sensor mounted in to a little hole in the heatsink that the FETs are screwed to so in the case of these blown controllers it is mostly surges.

I tried all 36 potential combinations and the the three combinations that ran smooth,they all seem to draw about 60 watts while the chain is off. I have test rode 2 of the combinations and both are quite loud. I will try the third one tomorrow. Drew about 1300 watts at one point while riding...

New Infineon controller has arrived! Initial tests connected to the bbs02 motor are positive. Figured out the hall sensors and tested it out in the garage and it seems to work. So tomorrow I shall finish wiring it properly and make more tests and figure out the temperature sensor if one exists...

Forgot to say, in relation to neptronix, I have done exactly that. Just ordered a new external controller and cycle analyst to modify my bbs02. I have started another thread which I will update when it arrives.

Hi Gorndog, Yep, they are the right Fets. P75NF75 manufactured by ST microcontrollers. The throttle can put a lot more power through the FETS than the pedal assist the way it is pre programmed. I noticed a potential design problem on the controller board, which could be causing excess heat...
