MS Windows-7 screwed me, Linux/Ubuntu discussion

Windows has screwed me over a few times. The most annoying thing is when you have to re-install for whatever reason, and then you don't have access to internet for over a month, and it says you have to activate. I don't like software (that I've paid for) dictating such terms. Of course all...

Recommendation for 72V 25ah pack (commuter)

I took the plunge and got another 48V 25AH from Sunthing. [fingers crossed!] I'll be sure to open this up (all the way) when I receive it - as well as posting the photos here.

Recommendation for 72V 25ah pack (commuter)

Haha, no doubt! Hmmm: http://www.ebayitem.com/131549442996 Man, maybe I should just double my pack... I'll need a new controller, but maybe this is where I'm headed anyways...

Recommendation for 72V 25ah pack (commuter)

That would probably be the most cost effective if its feasible. So even if my current pack has some wear on it, I could stick them on the same BMS? EDIT: I didn't get the original battery from sun-thing, but they look close on the outside...

Recommendation for 72V 25ah pack (commuter)

I think I need a 72V 25AH+ battery. I currently have a 48V 20AH lifepo4 pouch pack which is great for my 40mi commute (round trip), but I find myself wanting more. :) Perhaps a kind soul could steer me in the right direction. I bought a C7225-NC (36V-72V, 25A) controller from ebikes.ca...

    Troubleshooting 48V 25ah lifepo4

Sorry - I didn't get any notification that there were additional responses on this thread, plus I've been away on deployment. This pack has been holding up pretty well. I use it almost exclusively to commute to and from work (40mi round trip with some decent hills). On my KMX trike I've put...

Haven't seen this exact one, but there's one similar on GreenBikeKit: http://www.greenbikekit.com/bafang-8fun-bldc-hub-motor-opening-wrench.html I ordered this last week...

    Troubleshooting 48V 25ah lifepo4

Ok, I'm going to assume there's a pot in the charger to do this... Looking forward to taking it apart! Will do, when I was feeling them before they felt pretty solid. Definitely! Thanks dnmun for all your help and suggestions!

considering hill grades on first ebike build

Absolutely! Do you have a preference for geared or direct drive hub motor? Or are you thinking about a middrive solution? https://www.electricbike.com/motor-tech-learn-the-terms-part-1/

    Troubleshooting 48V 25ah lifepo4

    Pack has been on the charger for a few hours now and I haven't seen LED1 turn amber for a while... Voltages (while plugged in) are as follows: 1. 3.56 2. 3.54 3. 3.56 4. 3.55 5. 3.56 6. 3.56 7. 3.55 8. 3.56 9. 3.56 10. 3.56 11. 3.56 12. 3.54 13. 3.56 14. 3.56 15. 3.58...

    Troubleshooting 48V 25ah lifepo4

The charger LED1 may look green in the photo, but its switching back and forth between amber and green. I put on 1.5ah yesterday just having the cycle illuminator, CA, rear light and LED whip turned on, and did a quick throttle check too. Let me know if you need a different angle on these...

    Troubleshooting 48V 25ah lifepo4

I was wondering the same thing... Did re-connecting the sense wire have an effect on this maybe? I did solder the sense wire back on the tab and I'm assuming it was the correct tab since my bike works now. Sounds great - I appreciate your help! First thing tomorrow I'll take the pack back...

    Troubleshooting 48V 25ah lifepo4

Ok I soldered the loose wire back onto the tab. Now I can measure all the voltages individually from the BMS, and still getting 57V+ across all cells. However I'm measuring 47.5V both at the plug and the BMS output. I guess I have a faulty BMS? Edit: Let it sit for a while, now its reading...
