Great thread.
The Prius NiMH does have those breathing nipples on the top. I bought a full Prius battery and used it charged at 280 volts or thereabouts. This was in an open boat. Each nipple got a scrap of scotchbrite in it, and I still have of those modules working from 2013.

I'd forgotten: The Benz 250e is closely allied with Tesla, and thus probably carries a battery bank of 18650-type batteries. These don't inspire confidence in me, there's just too many of them, too many connections, too mind boggling....
I did the search here, found no entries on MB 250e.
It's the Benz all-electric hatchback. Used off-lease for less than $25k.
AND it desperately needs a conversion: equipped only with a slow charger, single phase.
Surely some wizard here could come up with a rapid-charge conversion that would...
Do trolling motors have ball bearing shafts? That's a basic question. I know the last trolling motor I took apart had only a single ball bearing on the front end. This absorbed the thrust, and it served as the bearing, sitting in a round recess of the commutator shaft. Pretty basic...
Torqeedo outboards are pricey, but effective. The first three or four finishers in the Wye Island Electric boat marathon (25 miles!) for the past two years have been with Torqeedos. Here's the opener; check the Dec edition PropTalk for standings.

Makita-lookalikes BEWARE: one went into my bonafide Makita charger, next thing I knew there was popping then banging and finally fire shooting out the battery on the charger, and 18650 shells propelled out of the battery. Yes the fire extinguisher was handy. Lots of smoke, fire. These were...
I have six pmac motors with various inputs and numbers on the labels. In our real world, I've no idea what powers they might be able to produce. And no idea what fine tuning might produce any changes. So this Harbor Freight generator seemed like a worthwhile try. And once coupled up with a...
Harbor Freight offers this 10000peak watts brushless generator.

Is this something that could practically give hp output readings on some of the larger motors? What would you use as a load? The...
Re the Makita batteries. There's a thread dealing with "docks" that are pretty complete units to help mount/tap the LXT battery. AND, Makita has a more basic one, they label it a "terminal"
