I have six pmac motors with various inputs and numbers on the labels. In our real world, I've no idea what powers they might be able to produce. And no idea what fine tuning might produce any changes. So this Harbor Freight generator seemed like a worthwhile try. And once coupled up with a motor, I could run some continuous power tests, monitoring temps and rpms, etc. A clampon ammeter would be one of the basic instruments.
I'd think a beater electric stove could serve as the variable load. And I'd be able to get some efficiency numbers, ampsxvolts in versus ampsxvolts out at some given rpm.
