Oh, ok, my magnets were on backwards. Works great now. Battery wire got quite hot so I decided to put shorter and larger gauge cable there. When I cut the old lead off the controller SPLAT an arc. Why don't they put freaking bleeding resistors across the caps?? ?Hope I didn't blow a fuse....

Could it be the "speed limiter" circuit I read about somewhere?

My PAS only works when I pedal backwards. It works great, but backwards takes some of the charm out of it. Is it possible that putting the sensor, or magnets, backwards causes this????

We are now the proud parents of two ebikes, a cruiser and a suspension comfort bike. The cruiser has a one-piece crank, so no PAS until I get some machine shop time. The comfort bike had a crank that just wouldn't loosen, and I had to turn it over to a bike shop to get the crank off for PAS...

I don't know why they sent me an LCD3 manual, I definitely have the LCD1 control. I hope your hack is successful, I bet lots of folks will jump for joy! Chas
