Yeah, the packs I have were purchased in late 2011. The good ones have been charged/balanced once since I parked the trike. That is probably the best course of action. I don't have the money persay, but I'll start throwing pennies back into the e-bike budget. A brand new 12S 20Ah pack...

Go to your local auto parts store and look for a maxi fuse and holder. I'm using a 60amp fuse on my 48v trike with no issues.

I asked this same question during my first build. Assuming that most people don't charge their lipos to 100%, and you will be not be engaging regen right off the bat, all should be well.

Upgrading to discs will probably require he replace the front wheel with a disc hub unit, as most rim brake bikes (even with disc mounts) don't come with disc ready hubs.
