I have a suggestion for an experiment for you. Why don't you try storing the lithium battery internally? Mike

    Epik Whistler

Um, no Wasy, it's quite possible. Greenstuff says they had the highest LEVEL of assist, not the HIGHEST SPEED. The Whistler is capable of carrying the rider for four hours if one is travelling at less than top speed. Maybe 50 k at 15 kph. I believe you owe Greenstuff an apology. Mike

Hi Bill, Sorry I can't help with the CA mods. I'm not into making my Ebikes street-illegal. Toronto is waking up to the realization there are electrified bicycles amongst the cyclists and they aren't too happy about it. EScooter enthusiasts refer to their scooters as "EBikes" and the public...

    Had my Physical yesterday, and…

I started Windsurfing in the 70's when booms were teak and have witnessed the rise and fall of the sport. I sold boards, ran a sailing school, hosted the Canadian and North American Championships and edited the "Beginners Guide to Sailboarding" for the Canadian Yachting Association. Never have...

    Had my Physical yesterday, and…

Now you're talking! I have a 17' double ended rowing and sailing boat called a St Lawrence Skiff, designed in 1890. Five years ago I put a Torqeedo outboard on it and last week I took it out for the first time this year. The battery has not lost any capacity whatsoever! The most amazing thing...

Hi Whistlers Been a while since I started this thread and Wasy has far surpassed me in mileage and experience, but just so everyone knows, my Whistler has continued to perform faultlessly. My sister has been riding it regularly and loving it! Her previous ebike was an early Schwinn and the...

Hi Waslybrytan, I'm glad you're happy on your Epik again and I appreciate you keeping us informed about your experience. Thanks also for investigating the origins of the bike and confirming it to be Melody's Dad's original design. My apologies for suggesting otherwise. I assume you were never...

Miro, I am the OP on this thread (original poster). Did you not read my EXTENSIVE comparison at the beginning of this thread? I have already answered your questions. I own a BionX bike which is a good standard of comparison.

__________________________ I have not been able to verify ANY claims regarding the battery chemistry of the Epik. I found a picture of a Brammo electric race bike that had Leyden power decals on it, but for all I know, they were photoshopped. Brammo makes no mention of using Leyden Power...

________________________________ My 'riding experience' on the Epik has been fantastic! It exceeds the legal speedlimit, rides very well, climbs like a 'Matchless', as the Beach Boys used to sing, and looks great! In my humble opinion, the Epik looks a world better than the Optibike, which is...
