in my build log there is some more info. https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=83316#p1291037 so the chip is a LTC4252 Hotswap controller used a LR8 as a constant current soure to power the LTC4252 the current source is better than a fix resistor for use with a big voltage range.

my controller has a wire to change the motor direction. you can switch that wire with the arduino. i don't know if the system status changes when in revers. maybe check that with the pc program

what brand en type of controller are you trying to get data from?

I used a linear tech part for my inrush limiter. cant recall the part number right now. it a chip controlling a low side mosfet with a current sense resistor. Used a constant current source ic to supply the LT part because it uses a internal zener. could post a schematic if there is interest. Manny

you are confusing the voltage across the mosfet and the battery voltage. when the mosfet is on and conducting 14A @ 1.7m ohm x 1.5(150 ºC) voltage Vds = 35.7mV I do not see a obvious reason for the failure edit: what is the gate voltage?

just open it up! than we can see what is dead. replacement parts are probably best sourced from digi-key, mouser or similar good luck

does your hall connector have a 6st wire? if so connect a 10k ohm resistor between that wire(Yellow-white) and the ground wire(black). the controller will think your motor is 25 °C all the time. good luck
