I see no padding in these pics. Without foam padding the battery will bang into the frame and errode the cell insulation causing a short circuit through the frame. And fire

We need more info to even guess the cause of the fire. What battery? BMS? Was it Charging? How was it mounted? Hard case?

It's worse than that. The cheap bms just cut off when first cell reaches 4.3v. There is no cell balance. They are just to prevent fire.

Rim brakes are super annoying because there is so much to adjust. disc brakes are fixed and cant rotate hitting the tyre like rim brakes do. Rim brakes need to be adjusted on so many axis to kiss the rim e.g. up/down, rotationally, in/out. They have to be reguarly re-adjusted cos the adjustment...

Looking at your pictures, the pack seems very close to the frame. I would be a little worried about the battery insulation being worn away by the frame banging into it on the bumps. You could get have a meltdown if it shorts out!
