Acrylic frame electric motorbike HME EV-1

Truly original (y) Something it brings to mind though... you remember that 3d printed gun someone posted on the interwebs? I've no idea how to use stress analysis software but I'm guessing you do, it looks plenty up to the job. Have you tried lighting it up, LED's? Fxing Tron cycle :) It's...

Had to return a beer to the bar today

It's possible it could've been the real deal, hops can cover an amazing variety of flavors and grapefruit is quite common (thanks to its overuse in tooth numbing IPA's usually served at entirely the wrong temperature). If a citrusy hop was used in a larger made in Pilsner in the Czech...

Problem flashing TSDZ2 on linux SWIM error 0x05

Maybe try turning on debugging before running make on stm8flash? Looks like line 10 in the makefile does it: https://github.com/vdudouyt/stm8flash/blob/master/Makefile No idea what's causing your problem but talking to microcontrollers can be hit-and-miss in my experience. I've had lots of...

Problems with Votol Em200sp and low acceleration.

Max torque at 175rpm, that's motor rpm, not output shaft after primary reduction? I'm guessing motor rpm, iirc the 90h doesn't come with primary reduction so if you're doing 15kmh at 175rpm then that's 85.7kmph/1000rpm... you're geared for about 260kmph before the field weakening kicks in??

PTFE sheet might be another option, I've never seen it used as gasket material but thread tape does a similar job well and it's reasonably cheap and readily available.

Have you got enough depth to cut an o-ring groove in the motor side face? Gasket paper with plenty of grease on one face might work but still sticks after a while.

Question about 12v li-ion 3s battery for RV.

That's a 12v inverter and if so, any idea what its low voltage cutoff point is? Could be it will work fine with 3s and you're going to need to limit charge rate from the vehicles battery anyway. Not sure what the options are for 12v(+) to 3s charging, RC balance chargers would be one possible...

Question about 12v li-ion 3s battery for RV.

Iirc 4s LifePo4 gives a closer range, energy density isn't as good as Li-ion but lifespan and discharge rates are generally better. You're running the lithium cells alongside lead acid? If not, BMS voltage limiting could be an issue, alternators burn out pretty much immediately if disconnected...

    wr250f conversion

@amberwolf, Thanks, it looked simple from looking at controller schematics but I hadn't come across discussions on it before. Still surprised variable regen isn't a more common feature on these newer controller brands (wasn't aware the bigger APTs had 2 levels), maybe not too far off though...

    wr250f conversion

For the regen, does anyone do add-on regen modules? The circuit looks relatively simple, a 3 phase rectifier with DC current regulation, I could probably even put one together within my (very limited) electronic hacking skills. Failsafes might be tricky but if something like that would be...

    gas price thread

Oil prices have very little to do with supply and demand. A recent example is the crash from over $100 to less than $40 in 2014. That was negotiated by the IMF and had two major effects, firstly it initiated recovery from the 2008 crash (oil gets cheaper, everything gets cheaper) and secondly...

Embarrassingly Simple questions - Choosing a Voltage

I'm surprised no ones mentioned the safety aspect yet, even 24v can give you an unpleasant surprise when you're stuck out in the rain and touch something live and that can turn into a very nasty surprise or even something lethal as voltages rise. Of course, we should never be touching live...

    Advice ATV motor

Not "also" important, the battery is of primary importance, it's what you start with and develop around. It's counter-intuitive coming from an infernal combustion background, feels like designing a drivetrain based around the fuel tank but that's the way it works with electric, specify your...

Hard to distinguish between reservoir hydro and wind in that pic, interesting all the same :bigthumb: The main issue with wind is storage and the main issue with storage is incentive. The private sector can easily provide the masses of storage needed but it has little incentive to do so without...
