72v Magic pie 3 Lyen controller

Great info Guys, cheers! We are going to over-volt a 20" MP3 to 72v, and will use a Lyen controller. We are converting a 20" Chopper (which currently has a hideous petrol motor on it), and am wondering if I should get the motor specially wound for higher top speed (as we have been getting some...

Melbourne trail ride - SUN 11th Nov

Oh yeah.. That sounds wicked Sam! I might need a longer sleigh for my trike for that one  That would be an urban run I hope.. We'd be aiming to be seen! We're still interested in another more "off-roading" adventure too, or even a camping trip if anyone is wondering what to do for...

    Central battery mounting

Our batteries can be made to any shape really :) Just gotta make up a template. Yes, they are really light for their capacity, and we can build The introductory price is $650 (including a $200 Cycle Analyst), add $100 for a custom-built shape. On longevity, not exactly sure yet, but they...

Melbourne trail ride - SUN 11th Nov

Hyena said: "When I was testing the very first magic pie with internal controller and temp sensor it ran fine for general riding but as soon as I regenned down a hill for 30 seconds it overheated".. Thankfully now they have better self-cooling systems, and you can program how long the regen...

    Central battery mounting

That sounds pretty good too.. Thanks for all the ideas guys, brilliant! We are also now building our own 'reconditioned' Li-Ion / NiMh batteries (recycling cells retired from medical equipment) into triangular shapes, and will probably house them in the falcon bags. 6kg of battery is giving us...

Melbourne trail ride - SUN 11th Nov

Haha, you guys are so generous to my trike! It's pretty cool I admit, although I've yet to get used to its challenging handling, and it was less than ideal for off-roading (which you guys made look SO FUN by the way!) I ran over my own foot twice, haha! Was a great chance to try the Stealths...

Melb Australia Group ride Sat 10th Nov 2012

Really looking forward to the ride, think we might have some stiff competition for the coolest bike though! :) Any ideas yet of where you'll wind up and at what time? We have to be at CERES in Brunswick by 1.30.. Sounds like that should be achievable. Any takers yet on the Sunday Mullum...

Melb Australia Group ride Sat 10th Nov 2012

Hi Kepler, We'd be interested in a Sunday ride, as our Saturday ride may be cut a bit short by work commitments. We live in Warrandyte, and I haven't done the Mullum Mullum trail yet (yeah, a bit slack really!).. Would be nice to do it with another local e-bike enthusiast :) Look forward to...

Melb Australia Group ride Sat 10th Nov 2012

We have to attend an e-bike Conversion Demo at CERES in Brunswick at 1.30 (should be there at 1 really) on the 10th.. I hope that will work ok with the timing of your ride. Would anyone like to bring their e-bike along to that, to show off? ;) Maybe we can ride in that direction..

    Central battery mounting

Ahh, you guys are great! That looks awesome.. But its not proving so easy with a pre-purchased GM battery as below.. Surely there is someone who has found a bracket for this type of battery..

    Central battery mounting

Thanks Neptronix :) I'd missed the link, silly me! Yeah, does look awesome, will definitely suit another project we are working on - making our own batteries from recycled cells, retired from hospital equipment. We are making these in triangular shapes, and this bag may be just what we were...

    Central battery mounting

Hey that looks cool, thanks for that! Where can we get one of those bags?? Are they waterproof? Does it velcro down at the bottom too? How much movement do you get? We have the big battery which normally mounts on a rear rack.. Hoping we can get it SOLIDLY mounted in the middle. Thanks again :)

    Central battery mounting

Howdy all.. Wondering if anyone can provide ideas on mounting brick-shaped batteries centrally in the triangle of the frame.. Would be grateful for any pics or advice on mounting with U-brackets or something similar. Thanks, RevBecca
