    Identifying and restoring lynch/agni motor

Now here lies the biggest issue!: is it actually worth it to invest a nice chunk of money into this older piece of tech? Its going to cost atleast $400 in controller to give this thing decent power. This is also disregarding the eventual brush wear after giving it any decent amount of use.. to...

    Identifying and restoring lynch/agni motor

That's actually exactly how this motor is! Copper strips/bars. Heres the inside of one (not mine): So I took apart the brush holder and it was absolutely filthy in there, filled with dirt and grime that almost looked like grease, most of the brushes weren't even fully extended enough to make...

    Identifying and restoring lynch/agni motor

I'm almost 100% sure the corrosion is surface level from weathering and not from being overpowered or overheating... i don't think its even possible to "rewind" this motor? I don't think its made from regular strung copper. After some cleaning, I found a stamp! 119-050313 So its an agni 119...

    Identifying and restoring lynch/agni motor

Taken off of a cycles maximus pedicab being powered by a 12v 275a curtis controller. Can't find much info other than its a lynch motor. It has no labels or anything. Trying to narrow down which one it is. I'm thinking its most likely an LEM170 or LEM200, what are some things I can do to...

Parallel multiple brushed controllers on one big brushed motor

Curtis 1204-608 if my eyes don't deceive me, Not sure if it actually works or not, decent chance it actually does, I just didn't want to have to make and run a super high amp 12v pack for it 😅 I have enough 36-48-72v higher voltage packs lying around id rather get it to work with...

Parallel multiple brushed controllers on one big brushed motor

Wasn't sure if that would pair well with a hall sensor throttle but that was one of the options I was looking at, maybe I'm overcomplicating this. Here's the motor it came with, anyone help identifying? I'm thinking its a LEM 170 but can't tell, and looking at the specs it just might be a bit...

Parallel multiple brushed controllers on one big brushed motor

It's for a cargo trike which had a BRUSHED 12v 275a CURTIS controller on it. Its running a rear mounted mid motor, haven't got a good look at the motor itself, but if its running this controller then clearly it can take some power. Im looking up a replacement controller seems pretty pricey, so...

Mix matched FETs controller repair - what can go wrong?

The original problem was caused when I was testing weather I bled my brakes properly, holding down the brake and applying throttle to see if it could lock it up. Normally any other time that would cause an overcurrent at most, but that time it decided to cause a popping sound and the controller...

Mix matched FETs controller repair - what can go wrong?

I've had a Sabvoton 96100 and 96120 both sitting around for years because each had a blown set of fets Rather than order a new set of matching ones, I took the impatient route of taking a set of working ones from one and using them to replace a set of blown ones in the other. The 96100 has 8...

    RMZ 450 electric conversion

ASI's have been known to spontaneously combust without warning on occasion, especially after going for a seemly innocent and successful first ride, main reason im scared to touch one really

    Yamaha YZ250F

definitely reminds me of when an oil cooled hub motor would leak through the phase wires themselves no matter how good you sealed it, its leaking through the strands of wire themselves

2001 KX125 Hub mid drive Build *multi megabyte picture/gif thread*

Very much appreciated, I was definitely impressed myself how fast I was able to get something functional, and This amount of power too Is for no novice, triple digit voltage and amperage is a different ball game! Running a 25s 10p ncr18650pf pack Unfortunately that is where I have a nice...

2001 KX125 Hub mid drive Build *multi megabyte picture/gif thread*

Your correct, if I was limited to the stock settings this controller would not be enough. Luckily I do have mine unlocked. Right now running 160 battery amps and 475 phase amps max, This thing pulls like a freight train and easily picks itself up under 15mph. The extremely low gearing ensures...

2001 KX125 Hub mid drive Build *multi megabyte picture/gif thread*

Upgraded the battery wiring, Just ran around the neighborhood set to 150 battery amps and 450 max phase amps... I guess I finally got what I wanted, somewhat Bike pulls like a train up until 40mph then power dies off fast. I can get it to pick itself up but still only <10mph, maybe I...

2001 KX125 Hub mid drive Build *multi megabyte picture/gif thread*

Bike had been riding well with yuyangking, time to step up the power and stress this mount. Added some more bracing which is bolted to the rocker arms and braced to the old shock mount on the cradle, old 1/2 drive sockets  Bigger sprocket came in the mail! Originally found a...

2001 KX125 Hub mid drive Build *multi megabyte picture/gif thread*

Yes exactly, it is a hub motor used in a mid drive configuration with a sprocket bolted to it to run a chain driven drivetrain Hubs are low RPM high torque motors so no need of a reduction and can be used with decent sized off the shelf sprockets. Removing the weight from the wheel but keeping...

2001 KX125 Hub mid drive Build *multi megabyte picture/gif thread*

Very appreciated! Going to optimize them as much as I can to cut down file size. Drilled holes and mounted up what I call the "motor cradle" with the crank arms Also used this tube from the kickstand portion with a nut welded to it pretty strong as a brace for the bottom motor mount. This...

2001 KX125 Hub mid drive Build *multi megabyte picture/gif thread*

Now it's just a matter of bracing this motor which I plan to feed around 20kw... What's the stiffest solid pieces of metal we have lying around A dig through some spare parts and some more angle grinder love led me down this path Reusing crank arms and suspension rocker arms, the stiffest...

2001 KX125 Hub mid drive Build *multi megabyte picture/gif thread*

How it all began: Had a spare Vector Vortex swing arm and mid drive hub motor. Also had a kx125 with a pristine frame that needed its engine rebuilt Reduce, reuse, recycle is my motto, so I set out to make the two work together, with as little to no modification as possible to the frame

Are there any high powered 96v controllers out there

This is seriously impressive! Its hard to find information about unlocked sabvotons, 400 battery amps?? When it's only made for 120, that's mental. I have a 96100 unlocked and a qs205 3T as a mid drive motor. Wondering if anyone has any experience pushing a 100? It's got a smaller profile than...

    Unlocked sabvoton limits

I have an older generation 96100 that is able to save any parameters entered in the MQCON app, apparently that means it is unlocked. Has anyone got an estimate for how much you can push this over stock numbers before it will be dangerous for the controller?
