DIY ajustable current source : test cell fuse wire

Hi all, I discussed a bit the proposed circuit on electronics.stackexchange. https://electronics.stackexchange.com/questions/400514/adjustable-high-current-source-40a https://electronics.stackexchange.com/questions/403152/parallel-mosfets-to-get-more-current-40a-adjustable-current-source...

DIY ajustable current source : test cell fuse wire

100A. That'a also the range of max current I got for usual 18650 used in eskateboards. I am using HE4 which are very similar to 25R. It'll be complicated for me to generate such a strong current in order to test my fuses ... I designed the parts for 40$ (continuous). Maybe I can go higher for...

DIY ajustable current source : test cell fuse wire

Hi Takyka, Thanks for your input. Is it 0.3mm diameter of 0.3mm2 section ? 0.3 diameter sounds freaking thin !! It s something like awg 28 !

DIY ajustable current source : test cell fuse wire

40A fuse is also somewhere I was aiming for. I am using HE4 LG cells which have 20A continuous discharge rating. I think that it is more than double when shorted. A 40A fuse would be nice even for a 3p pack (better for a 4p of course). I have ordered a LM4040 for reference voltage (with...

DIY ajustable current source : test cell fuse wire

Thank you for your help ! 1mOhm would result in a 2W power dissipation under 40A, right ? This is not even much for a resistor. Something like this might do the job : https://www.mouser.fr/ProductDetail/KOA-Speer/PSJ2NTEB1L00F?qs=sGAEpiMZZMtlleCFQhR%2fzfOI4xHs7IDUutBqgYbi4Il52bsccUJZvA%3d%3d

DIY ajustable current source : test cell fuse wire

Hi Addy, Thank you !! My knowledge in electronics is quite limited, so I am very grateful for you help (not only you but all of you)! Would you have suggestions for the FET ? I have found some 200A capable FETs in DirectFET package ...

DIY ajustable current source : test cell fuse wire

Hello, I'd like to build my battery pack with cell fuses. I can look at tables to choose the best wire gauge but ultimately, I'd like to test it with real current. The idea would be to flow an increasing current in the fuse wire to test two things : - it does not get too hot under normal load...

    CC licence and VESC

I would like to raise a discussion regarding the coverage of Creative Common licence and PCBs in projets. When a project is released using the CC licence (software, firmware, BOM, schematics and PCBs), is it compliant to modify it and NOT publish the PCB files ? To my understanding it is not...

How To Solder Your Own VESC!

Thanks for your precious input. I might use the oven for the other components and use the more traditionnal methods for the ARM and DRV. Anyway it is always useful to hear from other people experience.

How To Solder Your Own VESC!

I don t understand why it would not work with a reflow oven. I was intending to try ... can you explain the problem ?? And I do not see how you solder the ground pad behind the chip. The pins, I understand, but the ground pad ??

10S custom skate ESC: testers wanted!

Hi There, I just bought a reflow oven to try soldering my VESC. Do you have experience with stencils ? metal or plastic ? Is OSHstencil reliable ? What kind of files do I have to send them ? Any other source of stencils for the VESC ? Thanks for your help ! Akira

Loaded Vanguard Carbon Cast Ronin Single VESC 10S4P

Hi Whitepony I would like to go the channel way to make the cable disappear. I did not quite understand what you fineally did to fill in the channels. Have you used glue or resin ? Did you glue the bullet connectors before putting the resin ? Anyway, your build is amazing !! I wish I could do...

190KV or 230KV For Quad Loangboard Setup?

12s with 240kv is not a good idea. The kv is too high for this voltage. You should either go 10s or use a lower kv motor.
