Bought a battery from Luna. Might be a dud

IDK buddy any chance it was correct when they sent it and you switched it incorrectly? It doesn't sound like you tried it before making modifications to it. was that 64v showing correct polarity for the plug? And what charger are you using? one that came with the battery? Was it the standard...

I'm STUMPED! Help Me Please! BBSHD Broken

I have NO clue what is going on i successfully rode about 400 miles with my BBSHD and a 48v battery. I got a 52v battery and rode another 80+ miles and then out of nowhere i powered up the bike and this god awful sound, weird vibration and such. I have been getting more agressive with my rides...

Mündawg's Vlog -Finally Got Some Videos Up

Hey it's been a while, been really busy building/upgrading the bike. Haven't been posting, or even reading, all too much. I hesitate to call this a "Vlog" since i don't narrate much or talk about parts. I might make longer ones if ya'll are into that. I could show my setup. These are from my...

    E grom

Why would you (anyone i guess) add a second front wheel, which adds a bunch of complexity to the design of these motor machines? If leaning is the goal doesn't one front wheel fit the bill? ie a motorcycle? I'm genuinely curious. -Mündawg

    Electric Dirtbike 15 KW

OMG that looks awesome. If you could up the capacity to 30+Ah that thing would be worthy of the road with some sweet lights etc. Bye Bye car. Some dual sport tires eh? :D :D Good work pal

    Overjuicing a mid drive motor?

I don't think mid drives are as easy to overvolt than say DD hub motors. I know the BBSD can handle 52v with stock controller. But at least you can upgrade the mosfets to run some more amps as well. 52v x 40A = 2,080 watts of power. That's a lot to go through the bike drive chain imo. This is...

You kid is lucky! That's real cool! I like the "parental controls" don't want you kid ripping around being too silly.

So I've seen this new friction drive on CL a few times now

Doesn't look all too polished. I think a front geared hub motor would be the same price and would work with any tires so my vote is against this drive. Actually i just took another look at it and it looks cheap as dirt. Are those PVC rollers? They are NOT going to work i've been there. They...

How to mount a bottle-mount battery.

My bottle pack battery didn't line up as well. But i slid the whole unit up the frame and used the lower hole on the battery and the upper hole on the bottle mount. Then i used metal hose clamps with some rubber under it to clamp the top part of the bottle battery on. It works so far.

No forks or rear shock needed with new wheels

I can see how this would be very beneficial to a wheel chair to ease going over steps and curbs etc. But i worry about cornering and strength at high speeds and with high torque. Also, 2,000$!!!!!!!!!!! for a pair!!! That's the price of my WHOLE EBIKE SETUP!!!!! No way in hell i'd pay that much...

    UrbanX Smart Electric Wheel

I've seen a few of those all in one battery motor controller setups. I think they have potential to catch on in coastal cites, flat and hot places. I can't imagine it's got much range or power. But sometimes more isn't better.

Came within inches of being killed on my eBike today

Glad you're okay. do you wear reflective or high visibility clothing/gear? Some drivers just don't care or have any sense for bike safety... It's a shame but it's a fact we ebikers have to live with

1 Year Down The Road: Hardtail 29er Hub Drive Evolution

i am not surprised that the controller burnt out. Those things need to be ventilated. How is the hard tail with flats? I hear hub motors and hardtails get flats really often

    Water cooled ebike battery

I am confused by your intent. By "room temp" do you mean 68degrees? Why would they be warmer than room temp when just sitting around? As someone just said, if you get a properly sized and rated battery you will not have trouble with temps. I just don't see WHY you want the water cooled battery...

Looking for some guidedence, commuter bike & motor

I was talking about the BBSHD and it is definitely a 30MPH motor. When powered with the right battery. I have no exp with the BBS02. I am curious tho what you mean by the complications of a mid drive? After installation (that any ol' bike shop can do) the mid drive is not complicated. After...

Undocumented lead coming out of my new BBS02

As for waterproofing: I just bought a package of WaterProof Heat Shrink Tube from Amazon, cost about 20$ for the whole set of various diameters. It is different from normal heat shrink because it has some adhesive compound on the inside to seal out moisture.

    Identify bafang model

Are you sure that is a Bafang? They usually have Bafang labeled somewhere on the motor. If it's only 350W i would assume it was the BBS01 but i am no expert

    Bicycle for Bafang 350W

Since the commuter does not have suspension, fatter tires will smooth out the ride. No need for suspension with the lower speed of a 350W and flat terrain. But if you were choosing the 1500W version, you'd want some suspension to ease potholes at 25-35mph.
