QSMOTOR,0.5-12kW Electric Hub Motor & Mid Drive Motor Manufacture China

Thank you, that was it. The first time I was pretty sure that I had accidentally touched a hall wire to B+ at some point, and I stand by that, but I just realized now that the issue this time was a faulty GND wire in the new-ish hall sensor harness. It made enough connection to provide +5 on the...

QSMOTOR,0.5-12kW Electric Hub Motor & Mid Drive Motor Manufacture China

Hello all, I have been working for quite some time on a motorcycle conversion with a QS138H and a Votol EM150sp. I was able to ride once in December before the controller began behaving as though the hall sensors were not connected. It would make noise, and spin to a particular position and...

    Votol EM-100 & EM-150 controllers

I guess it must be the phase short, since I have only run this motor for about 10 minutes total, and at low throttle settings, but I don’t know how it could have happened while the system was shut down. So now I need to replace the sensors. Is this a part I can buy off the shelf or do I need to...

    Votol EM-100 & EM-150 controllers

Hey all, been following this thread for a while as I work towards an electric conversion of a Kawasaki G3. Controller is a votol em150sp and motor is a QS 3000 watt 138H mid drive. In any case, I had it running last night and it was a blast. I spent today installing a key switch, which...

    QS 3000w midmotor

Your model looks significantly more accurate than mine, so I won’t bother to upload mine unless people want me to, but some (non-mounting) features are just flat out wrong on mine. See the picture attached to see what I mean here: the center line of the 7mm thick sprocket sits 16.5 millimetres...

    QS 3000w midmotor

I’ve made a rough cad model of the motor in fusion if you’d like me to export it, or I could post a screenshot of the dimensioned end sketch. I don’t remember where I found the image i worked from, but it had enough dimensions that I was able to calibrate and work from it. I was able to 3d print...

    Electric Outboard Conversion

Seconded on the seawater protection - that stuff will kill all your electronics easily if you aren’t careful. Seal it, test the seal, take it out for a spin, then test the seal again. Maybe even install some sort of drain plug to use regularly if you’re confident you can do that without...

MotoTec fat tire bike - can I switch the front and rear wheels?

Usually, they cannot be swapped because the front and rear wheels have different width axles on most bikes, although I don’t know that bike specifically. Although you didn’t ask, my opinion is that you’re better off leaving it rear wheel drive anyway, due to better traction and easier handling.

Where would you place a 72v 25ah battery on this frame?

Are you sure you’d be able to make it small enough to fit in even 2 of those spots? If you can, please let me know, because I’m struggling with figuring out where to fit twice that on a small motorcycle. If it does fit, I’d go for 4 and/or 2, but 2 is less ideal when you factor in how far back...

Amazon 1000 watt 48 v rear hub motor wonky performance

If you have a setup where everything works properly in reverse, (which it seems you have when the learning wires are connected), all you should have to do is reverse 2 of the phase wires. Those are the thicker wires going to the motor, and there should be 3 of them. Swap 2 of them with each...

    QS 3000w midmotor

Hey, so I'm trying to figure out controllers. I'm having trouble finding the Votol 200 for sale anywhere, and the aliexpress QS motor comes with the votol 150sp, if any. So for 100 USD over the price of the motor with a votol 150, I can get the motor with a sabvoton 72200. Is this controller...

Where might I find a better deal? I'm not seeing much that has a comparable $/Wh ratio.

Can I trust these high-power ebay cells?

I was trolling ebay looking for some possible cells for my electric motorcycle conversion, and found this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/84-SPIM08HP-3-7V-8AH-LITHIUM-ION-BATTERIES-25C-200A-SUPER-CELLS-CUSTOM/202814938579?hash=item2f38b65dd3:g:MuYAAOSwDkVaakSh. Can I trust these cells? The description...

    QS 3000w midmotor

Okay, good to know. Also, does anybody know the dimensions of the version with the new case? I mostly would like to know the bolt size and separation. Also, is the new one just the old version in a plastic case, or is it actually a different motor in some way?

    QS 3000w midmotor

Those of you who have ordered this motor, does it come with a controller? The product listing at http://www.cnqsmotor.com/en/article_read/QSMOTOR%203000W%20138%2070H%20electric%20bike%20mid%20dirve%20motor/873.html has a picture of a votol 100 but does not mention it in the description. Is this...

    Q100H vs SWXH

I mean to say that the no-load speed is around 25 mph. I am actually an electrical engineering student, so I'll have to track down those graphs, if for no other reason than to learn by looking. I've figured out everything except the motor, essentially. I have a source for spokes, I'll be...

    Q100H vs SWXH

Thanks for the fast response. I suppose I should word my question more carefully regarding torque - I want to know how much torque each of them would produce at 20 amps. I have a Q100c that I run at 22 battery amp peaks, and I'm aware that the Q100H produces 30% more torque than mine does for...

    Q100H vs SWXH

Hi all, I'm going to be doing a second ebike conversion, this time on my dad's bike, and I'd like some advice regarding motor choice. I think I have it narrowed down to essentially the SWXH or the Q100H, both in the 260 rpm winds. I'd be running them at 48 volts in a 26" inch wheel for a ~25 mph...

Making a torque throttle instead of a speed throttle for a cheap controller

Okay, so using the code given above, and tweaking a few of the throttle voltage values to more precisely match my throttle, I am happy with the project as it stands. I have been using this to go everywhere for some time now, and I can happily say I have found no glitches, and it works just fine...

    Nkon refurbished cells any good?

I saw recently on Nkon's website that they have refurbished cells available. Does anyone have any experience with these cells? The pictures they had showed spot weld marks on the ends, but made no mention of capacity, aside from manufacturer ratings. Do these refurbished cells perform as well as...

Making a torque throttle instead of a speed throttle for a cheap controller

I've updated my previous posts with the photos as attachments. I've ordered some of those cardboard rings on amazon, so they should be here by this time tomorrow. I'll rebuild the pack as 12s (since all but 2 cells are fine) and do some more extensive testing of the functionality as it stands...

Making a torque throttle instead of a speed throttle for a cheap controller

Bad news, I won’t be able to test for a while. I’ve been having battery issues since late February, like cutting out over speed bumps, and I figured it was a loose connection. I opened up my battery today, and found this: https://imgur.com/gallery/wDPgJwY I count myself extremely lucky for 2...

Making a torque throttle instead of a speed throttle for a cheap controller

Yes, that’s right. That article says farther down that the Arduino doesn’t actually have a true analog output, rather PWM only, but what I found in my research is that there is a certain model, the “due”, which has 2 built in Digital to Analog converters, but it is a $34 board, and its maximum...

Making a torque throttle instead of a speed throttle for a cheap controller

While I think this would be the best way to implement this control, as of yet I haven't figured out how I could do that without a speed sensor hooked up, and a dynamometer for taking measurements to make a lookup table. This stems from the fact that the controller handles throttle inputs as...
