    Damn... a beauty will be born. (26 to 27.5 conversion!?)

    Nice one. Yeah, Ill swop over to a longer valve soon. My 'controller case' arrived today from China. It was the best one I could find with the potential to fit. It turns out it was about 3mm too small so I had to adapt the interior. I also had to remove all the wires I dont use from the...

    Damn... a beauty will be born. (26 to 27.5 conversion!?)

    The bigger wheel would surly mean higher top speed (albiet at the mercy of losing torque). I'm currently struggling with simpler issues than wheel rebuilds etc... The damn valve in the conversion motor wheel pulls itself back into the rim when inflated, meaning that I can't top up air because I...

    Thanks, Yeah, but can my ebike 'voliamart' kit do re-gen braking!? https://www.amazon.co.uk/Voilamart-Electric-Conversion-Intelligent-Controller/dp/B06XXQK2MD

    Yeah, Ive looked at the potential for a brake post 'adapter' but I cant see it happening. Its all very tight in there. Not much space and you'd need an 'L' shape braket to move the pad lower. It just seems easier to make it a 27.5 rim... unless someones made a bracket already!?

    Thanks man. So you can buy spokes that are a variety of lengths but all fit the same holes?

    Also, This looks like it'd be awesome if I had any clue what size the hub was or where to measure it from. http://www.ebikes.ca/tools/spoke-calc.html

    Ok so £49.99 I can get a 27.5 with 36H. Thats not so bad... Now, Im sure there must be a spoke length thats very specific to a DD 1000W motor on a 27.5 with 36H!?

    Damn... a beauty will be born. (26 to 27.5 conversion!?)

    Thanks! So thats a pita! Just realising that the spokes numbers aren't the same. Is there a 'standard' of sorts, where I can buy spokes that will fit a 36H 27.5 perfectly with my DD hub? I dont know what size the hub is but Im sure the 1000W hubs are all the same size?

    Damn... a beauty will be born. (26 to 27.5 conversion!?)

    Today, I bought a used Carrera Valor 27.5 bike for £90 and I've moved my DIY ebike kit over from my crap 18 yr old steel MTN bike. The hybrid shape has force me to put battery on the top bar but I kinda like it. Its kinda like a 'petrol tank'. Its very cool. So, I'm mixing 26 inch DD rear hub...

    Hailong Case... TIGHT!! Aaagh!

    Cool! Thanks. Well, i got it together and took it for a test ride. All good! I just removed the switch and the 5V. I'll sugru the holes. I've now got an anti spark switch instead of the battery switch. I dont understand the point of the switch on the Hailong. I have the anti spark in the frame...

    Hailong Case... TIGHT!! Aaagh!

    SO, Im DIY building a Hailong Dolphin case (14s4p - I think its a Dolphin) and my eBay BMS is making it soooooo tight. The only way I can make it work is to remove the switch on the side and remove the 5V phone charge port. 1. Has anyone done this without removing anything? 2. How can that...

    52V = PITA

    This sounds promising... So, why not choose 60V instead of 72? Is 60V aimed at lead acid batts?

    Thanks man. I'll keep this forum informed... fingers crossed!

    52V = PITA

    Oh... just been looking online more and it would appear that the sw900 has a 36V 48V + a 72V option. That would make me think that'll be ok however I think I'll still need a voltmeter as the % is bound to be out running a 52V on the 72V setting. I guess I'll only know what happens when I finally...

    52V = PITA

    Also... I can only find 3 wire 0-99V LCD screens on UK eBay. Where does the 3rd wire go presuming the other 2 are + - . In fact... ? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/10V-100V-Universal-Digital-Battery-Capacity-Voltage-Voltmeter-Indicator-Ammeter/192592908520?hash=item2cd76e90e8:g:dj8AAOSwjodZ6Ir6

    52V = PITA

    Cheers folks, really good to get some solid info on this matter! I'll have to look out for potential issues when fully charged. Maybe the Sw900 will be different to yours. Im still not sure how you actually turn the bike 'on'. I've everything built but im just waiting for my BMS to finish the...

    52V = PITA

    So, Ive built a 52V battery for my 48V 1000W DD hub kit. I havn't plugged anything in yet but Im worries the SW900 LCD won't read out the 52V as its made for 48V. Im also unable to find a simple 52V LCD voltmeter anywhere in UK so I can see the V left if the SW900 fails to work. Any ideas or...

    Hailong case DIY Build

    OK, I think I need to talk to someone who has built one of these Hailong Shark cases from scratch. I have bought one fron AliExpress. I have built 3 different 18650 battery packs from scratch before, for eSkate boards I own. This is the first time Ive had the luxury of a professional looking...

    Smallest controller?

    Thanks guys for the responses. Im going to go for a rear wheel version and probably paint the controller black or put it in one of those wee frame bags.

    Smallest controller?

    Hi, Im new... the WIKI appears to be offline :( Im from the eSkate world. All diy builds using Focboxes and VESCs. Ive never used a hub motor (ebike). All the diy build kits seem to have huge controllers! Big aluminium boxes. I want to build a super clean bike using a front hub motor and a...
