ebikes.ca Ezee hub motor kit with LiFePO4 4.5 years on.

This is my first post in about 4 years. I bought a ebikes.ca Ezee kit around about August 2010 and installed it into a Kona smoke (all chromoly). Rode it regularly for a year and a half then got a job in South Otago NZ, (wet, windy and cold) and lived literally next door to the school I taught...

    First bike- Finally!

Well my time in Korea has come to an end and I'm heading back to New Zealand at the end of the month. One of the first things I buy will be a car. The second will be an ebike. I've spent most of the last year looking into and posting about the different options and technologys and I do have a...

Disk brakes on a rear 9C

Am I correct in assuming that if you installed a rear 9C and put disk brakes on it, then there would be no problem with the rim offset? I'm not familiar with disk brakes at all, never having owned a bike with them. Asking as I can see that ebikes.ca has them in now.

    Danger of plug braking?

Having read the thread about plug braking in front hubs: http://www.endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=8212 And the thread where methods came off a bike which exhibited unexpected regen at 25mph, spining the hub out of his front drops; I was wondering what the real danger of this...

    New Ebikes.ca LiFEPO4 packs.

I've noticed that ebikes.ca has just been updated with new LiFePO4 packs. $700 for 36v12ah. Anyone have any info on these? What does one get over say a Ping pack? I was hoping to go LiFePO4, but at that price, I could get 24Ah of Nicads easy.

    Trickle charging kludge.

I had a thought. Say you had a regular ebikes.ca Nicad/ Nimh pack or something similar, and for some reason the cells were out of balance. You only have the regular 2A/3A rapid charger. Now those cells should accept a C/10 (800mA) current indefinitely, but your charger is C/4~C/3. Could you...

Do you think you could stretch 36V8AH for 45km??

Got some theory ebiking questions. I'm going to do the Otago Rail trail http://www.otagorailtrail.co.nz (hopefully this year) with my wife and family. At least one of the bikes will be towing a kiddy trailer. As a question of interest, if one was going at low speeds (15km/h) on flat (converted...

What are the chances of this motor ripping out a fork?

http://www.evshop.co.kr/item.php?it_id=449 http://translate.google.co.nz/translate?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.evshop.co.kr%2Fitem.php%3Fit_id%3D449&sl=ko&tl=en&hl=en&ie=UTF-8 (for those that don't like reading Korean.) Being in Korea, I have until recently been unable to easily get a decent ebike...
