how to make a proportional / variable regen ebrake brake lever

What you're describing is what I want - regen to apply before brakes actually engage. I bought a Shimano MT200 brake system that came with a shutoff switch installed. I assume a 3rd party did it, as I don't see any official Shimano documentation on a MT200 with cutoff switch. It's a super...

how to make a proportional / variable regen ebrake brake lever

I've played around with the brake+throttle on my Grin system to adjust regen. It's ok but I think the constant regen is fine. My issue is my brake levers don't have an adjustable engagement point for the on/off switch and as-is it engages the regen a little late.

Hub motor recommendations for a cargo bike in a hilly town

RE: lacing pattern. Grin specifically suggests radial lacing for their all Axle hub motor with regen. All-Axle Hub Motor - Grin Products - Product Info RE: power. I've now got 50 miles or so on my Grin All Axle V3 powered by a 52v 20ah battery and baserunner controller. So far it has been...

Xtracycle Edgerunner electric conversion with Grin All Axle v3 and SuperHarness

2018 Xtracycle Edgerunner Swoop (longtail cargo bike) electric conversion with a Grin All Axle v3 direct drive hub motor with integrated torque sensor and SuperHarness TLDR; I like it, got a few things to sort out still. Photos up front: Xtracycle Edgerunner swoop ebike upgrade with Grin All...

Help with GMAC superharness rear hub order

I'm looking at your schematic now and I see you don't have the superharness anywhere. On a conventional bike it goes by your handlebars. The front light, rear light, brake cutoff, throttle, and phaserunner/baserunner all connect straight to the superharness. The battery mount is integrated with...

    Magura brake levers

That's interesting thanks for sharing. I just installed on of the Shimano MT200 brake kits that has a cutoff sensor and I was surprised how much the actual brake pads engage before the cutoff sensor is detected by my controller. I'm already applying a considerable braking force before the regen...

Help with GMAC superharness rear hub order

Hey I just finished (yesterday) a Grin SuperHarness build with a rear All Axle V3 motor on a longtail. I'm planning a big write up but feel free to message me with any questions. I did need a second order of the 9 pin mains cable as the stock cables didn't reach all the way to the handlebars...

Customs payment on an order from Grin to US

I just did a big $2000+ order for a full all Axle kit and battery from Grin. As per their website checkout system they suggested paying for the more expensive DHL shipping to reduce the likelihood of customs surcharges. When buying a battery it ships separately, but the battery came packed with...

Hub motor recommendations for a cargo bike in a hilly town

Oh it's the same bike - Xtracycle Edgerunner. 20" rear wheel. 52v 20ah battery. I was dead set on the cyc Photon originally but got sucked into the idea of a hub motor and Grin's products by a guy I went on a ride with.

Hub motor recommendations for a cargo bike in a hilly town

Yeah I'm just hauling my kids around town at moderate speeds using pedal assist (not throttle) so hopefully it's sufficient. We have a few hills but nothing very long or steep.

Hub motor recommendations for a cargo bike in a hilly town

Thoughts on the All-Axle cassette torque sensor

Have you also ridden mid drives with torque sensors (e.g. cyc Photon, Bosch, Shimano) and have a comparison? In the process of building out my Grin All Axle V3 now. Just got to sort out battery fit issue...

Cycle Analyst V3 preview and first beta release

Glad to see an All Axle V3 in the wild. Mine came in this week and I'm hoping to knock out my build this weekend. I'll be using the Superharness so no backpedal regen for me. My big ask right now is for analog/proportional hydraulic disc brake levers.

Definitely planning on it. Have you contacted Grin to see what they can do about your axle config?

I got a Grin All Axle V3 coming for my 20" longtail cargo bike but y'all are giving me some Photon envy.

Gearing for a hub driven e-cargo bike

Thanks I'm now seeing that some other off the shelf e-cargo bikes with hub motors and 20" wheels come with 50T front chainrings (Specialized Globe). Not many 1x configurations with chainrings that big. I suppose standard chainrings work but lose the narrow/wide tooth profile.

Gearing for a hub driven e-cargo bike

Working on my first ebike conversion - Xtracycle Edgerunner with a Grin All Axle rear hub motor (20" wheel). This bike started life as an analog bike with huge gearing for getting cargo up hill - triple 9 speed with 48/36/26 crank and 11-34 cassette. I'm thinking I should replace the triple...

Suggestion on brake cutoff for new Grin Superharness?

I think I'm going for #2 here - any suggested models? Seems I can get a 4p HigoB to make my own connector pigtail easily.

Suggestion on brake cutoff for new Grin Superharness?

Either/or? Seems like I can get a 4p HigoB with pigtail for like $8 on Amazon etc. Could just cut whatever other connector off and solder. Would probably be willing to pay for the Magura MT5e if I could just get the brake lever and reuse my old hoses/caliper but they don't seem to sell those.

Suggestion on brake cutoff for new Grin Superharness?

Just bought a new Grin All Axle V3 with Superharness (instead of Cycle Analyst) for my first e-cargo-bike conversion. The Superharness uses a 4P HigoB connector for the brake. I have a nice hydraulic brake setup already so I didn't buy new brakes from Grin but I'd like some input on a good...

how to make a proportional / variable regen ebrake brake lever

From what I've read the grin controllers (cycle analyst and the "superH") can take analog/variable input to have adjustable regenerative braking. They sell cable actuated levers (linked above) for this but not hydraulic levers. I've inquired direct with them but haven't heard back. I don't plan...
