Hi!

I am looking to build my first electric longboard but am just wanting a hand with pulleys and belts.

I am currently looking at these as they are the easiest for me to get:

small pulley: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/301743507712
large pulley: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/331674283711
belt: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/391258946816

My motor and trucks have a center distance of 70mm.

Would these work? If not i would love some advice :D

Cheers!

Nope.

That is a T5 pulley, while they are similar they are not nearly as strong as the HTD or GT belts from gates. You want one of those, they are 2-3 times stronger. The GT3 belts are the strongest, but most people run HTD as they are easier to find and slightly cheaper.

A great source that I use (also has everything) is sterling instruments, https://www.sdp-si.com/eStore/Catalog They are based out of the US, you may be able to find something more local though (I did, once, took 3 months for the store to specialty order it in for me).

Thanks Bandaro, good info.
Did not know about those GT3 belts.
I have a few spares of my HTD belts but should I ever go through them all I will definitely try the GT3 belts.

Yes they do fit. Here is a table I found at a UK source:
