Bafang and 8-Fun motors

Why are Bafang motors listed as Bafang/8-Fun. Are they the same motor? I ordered a bafang motor and it says 8-Fun on the housing, but has Bafang labeled on a sticker. Can someone clarify this? Thanks.

Bafang is the company name and 8fun is a marketing name, they are one and the same.

If Ba means 8 in Chinese, it's a sort of translation of Chinese name to English.

8 fun generally is seen on bafang motors of 500w rating. smaller ones won't say 8 fun on them.

BaFang or 8Fun means eight directions .In the Chinese culture eight directions also means many or all of the direction. Similar to the meaning of "all corner of the land" So when choosing a business name they hope their business covers all corner of the land.
