Whats Going On? Even if the extra cost is calculated from china shipping and the more stringent battery shipping rules, it still seems like batteries should be a lot cheaper than they are now. I probably am missing something

Edit: as a reference I bought my battery in 2011. Maybe it's just me but batteries don't seem any cheaper.

remember the china trade tariffs?

So let me guess, there are no plans to bring battery production into the U.S., that is except for Musk's car battery only factories?

South America is rich in lithium. I think places like Chile will start building battery factories. Id hate to know the price of an American made battery

Anyone else notice that IMR no longer lists LG Chem among it's list of 18650 lithium-ion cell manufacturers ?
Nor any LG Chem batteries. Is it possible that LG has cut ties with IMR ? Why?

Just because company A sells the products made by company B does not imply any formal link between them that can be cut.

IMR may simply have chosen to stop selling LGs batts for reasons of competition / price / profitability.

Try asking them
