I just received a brushless speed controller that has three wires for the PAS. Is it required to use the controller, if it is, is there a a way to by pass the PAS. Thanks

Brushless controllers with a PAS connector are very difficult to find. Could you provide a link to where you got it from?

There's so many different types and makers of controllers. We need to see a picture of it and all the connectors before we can advise you.

I thought all brushless controllers has a pas facility, unless they were not destined for ebike use.

Just don't use it.

If brushless controllers with PAS function are so common, can somebody find a link for one? I know a few people that would love to get hold of one.

Can it not be spoofed with one of those 555 timer modules off of Ebay?
three wires Gnd, 5Volts, and the sense wire which if you send 5volt pulses to should make the motor engage.

Sorry, suffering from brain fade, as it was way past my bed-time. I was thinking of brushed controllers with PAS, which are hard to find. All my bikes have brushless motors and PAS!
