diy ring terminals

I was surfing around EP months ago and I remember seeing a thread where someone (doctorbass?) had created their own ring terminals by splitting the wire into 2 strands, wrapping it around a nail or something, then tinning it with solder and hammering it out...

I can't seem to find it now....anyone know what i'm talking about?

Although, I tried it last night and mine didn't look nearly that good...lots of work too...

Cool idea, but I think I might just suck it up and buy some ring terminals...
