It go moved...then deleted entirely when they failed to adhere to the ES rules about posting details.

I was PMing them and they seemed keen to sell to me...the guy was in the process of sorting out a Paypal account and cheaper shipping. Then it all went silent. :?:

Cheers

Ahhhh that is what I was afraid of. I was hoping this would be a serious vendor and supply of tires.

These look like pretty good semi slicks from Germany...haven't heard of or seen them before

Reifen Street Hog 24 x 3.0 €28.95
http://www.classic-cycle.de/en/Tires-Tubes-and-Supplies/Tires/24-inch/Tire-Street-Hog-24-x-3-0-black.html

Looks promising for a road only tire, TV, you should give these a try.

I have just found a slow start option in the menu on my bomber and swithced it off and does it do anything
and will I be poping wheelies?

thx steve

It would take a lot to get me away for Hook Worm's.

TV,

Just curious really but have you ever looked into moped tires for street use? I would think they would last longer than bicycle ones.I was reading over at Electric Bike about them.A small sentence from EB below.

"For the street, look for DOT-rated moped 2-ply, which is stronger than bicycle tires, but still reasonably light. Gazelle M62, Pirelli ML75, and Hutchinson GP1 are popular brands with good price/performance ratios"

Related but not directly is: A fair amount of large cc scooter owners are using small car tires on the rear of their scoots. All so far are very satisfied as the couple of the small car tires give them a plusher ride and 3 times the mileage vs scooter tires.Same to for several motorcyles.

Take care.Tim.

As far as I know there aren't any 24" moped tires, and I like 24" wheels on my bicycles. Wear isn't really a problem with most of the tires I've tried, and only the rear for these Hook Worms. I don't really mind, because changing tires is so easy, and it gives me something to work on, on my bike. Part of the secret of your bike never breaking is keeping a close eye on everything, and removing the rear wheel allows you to get up close and personal with a lot of the bike.

I believe the moped tires are sized much like the motorcycle tires the other Stealth owners are using. For example the 19-inch moped interface is very similar to a 24-inch bicycle interface.A great write up at ElectricBike.com Just for future reference or simply reading enjoyment.Nice pics too but I didnt want to "lift" a pic.

Yah Archer, that's a nice article and for the most part, spot on. The only part of that article I disagreed with was the implication that lightweight moped rims are made of aluminum and heavier high horse power applications are made of steel. This is true, so to speak from the budget shops making rims, but not the case all around. My thinking is that was left out for the sake of brevity. Be that as it may, its a very good, well written article.

The slow start option in the bomber menu is now off and will it perform better and should it aleays be off?
I understand that the gear option from QMS when available will raise the candence as i presume you cant peddle over 35 mph on a standard bomber
and how much will it increase by and will it feel like having 10 gears instead of 9?
thx
steve

Hi Steve, The soft start option when enabled in the B52's menu simply prevents the bike from rapidly accelerating with a smoother throttle response from take off. This can be set in either position as necessary.
Our sprocket modification simply raises a comfortable cadence from the factory of around 50km/h up to around 60-62 km/h (in ninth gear) and therefore makes pedaling at a faster speed more comfortable. In effect this mod could be viewed as a tenth gear from a ratio perspective. Hope this helps.

Hello QMS and can i order the kickstand and sproket mod from your website and does it need a new chain?
and is it an easy diy fit?
thx
steve

Does this slow take off still draw full power ?
I shot a vid on the weekend which I'll upload tonight so you bomber owners can tell me if this looks normal or not.
The DC1 shows it pulling 5200w most of the way up to about 60km/hr (where I ran out of road) but it just seemed a little sluggish. Maybe I'm just used to higher powered bikes though ?

What have you been riding previously a Lightning electric SuperBike at 218 mph?
Its motor is over 150 KW making 200 hp

The fastest ebike I've ridden was the prototype for the zero SR running something like like 80kw

Anyway here's the clip, what do you think bomber owners ? Does this look about right for B52 acceleration ? This was with the throttle pinned. It may just be that I've become desensitized to what people tend to call high powered, but it felt a little sluggish to me.
There'll be a before and after vid coming in a week or so

Did you had soft start on?
Feels a bit slow, did you went up a hill or something?
Here is mine bone stock:
Nevermind the timer on the left, I think it counts it wrong, watch the youtube timer instead.

It's as the customer handed it to me, I haven't played with the DC1 at all but I'll check when I get home and have a fiddle. It was pulling 5200w as shown which makes me think it's probably not power limited, but yeah, it just doesn't seem right.

Yours looks more like what I'd expect. This also ran out of puff quicker than expected and wasn't looking like it wanted to pull too rapidly to the expected top speed of around 80. No hill, it's a 250m long straight, flat piece of road - my local ebike 1/8th mile drag test strip :)

Yah somethings going on Jay. The Bomber you are riding took almost as long to go 0-50km/h as Allex's Bomber did from 0-80km/h in stock trim.

Yes something isn't right. My vintage Bomber is way quicker than that. It's hopefully just a setting. In any case, I'd contact Stealth, the DC1 apparently has diagnostic codes which helps them identify problems quickly.

Should add, mine's a stock 5404 so will accelerate quicker than a stock 5403, but with a lower maximum speed of around 70 kph.

Yeah something is fishy. I thought it was a 5404 too the way it was topping out, but still too slow to accelerate.
I just checked all the menus, slow start is definitely off and power is set at 5200w with peak power recorded power showing over 6000w.
The wavering sluggishness it has makes me think it's almost certainly the DC1 at fault.
Ah well, best take the shotgun approach - new adaptto max e, high speed cro in a 19" moto rim and 25ah high current li-ion battery

Getting off road tyres for a Bomber is a PITA!
It's from middle of April I've been trying to get a pair of off road tyres and today I got the following reply from allterraincycles.co.uk:
"" HI Simone,
We are still waiting on 1 of the 2 tyres to come in form our suppliers. They are expecting the tyres in stock on the 18th June. I Do apologise for the delay, but unfortunately these tyres are quite a specialist item and even our suppliers don’t keep a huge amount in stock.

Kind regards

mtbgear.co.uk refers to leisurelakesbikes.com and they replayed in e-mail that they are out of stock too.
evaldsmtb.se has not replayed yet.

I have sent an e-mail to sales@stealthelectricbikes.com.au to ask what's their tips about Bomber replacement tyres.
