i saw many users installing a pelicase 1300
http://www.peli.com/de/cases/rundum-schutz-beh%C3%A4lter-kleine-1300.html

i just wanted to order a123 20ah pouch cells and install 24 of them in a pelicase.
so i doublechecked the dimension of the (not built) pack.

the inner dimensions of the pelicase are 23.3 x 17.8 x 15.5 cm
a pouch cell is 22.5 x 16.2 x (24x 0.75) cm

and 24x 0.75 ist 18cm. so that MAY fit into 17.8 if pressed hard, and 16.2 MAY fit into 15.5 if flaps of the cells can be bent.

agniusm's kits are said to be 24S - 174x160x14mm - which would be ok. 14mm is the height of the kit - you would need to add that to 22.5cm od the cells. but i'm gonna install my own kit which are only 10mm high.

anyone tested that before? anyone using those cells in a pelicase? how many did you fit in there?

thanks!

I tried to fit 20s a123 20ah into Storm im2075 case (similar to the 1300, but a little bigger) but was unsuccessful.

The problem is, the case tapers slightly from the mouth of the to the base, meaning the dimensions at the back are smaller than the dimensions at the front. Even though the case's printed dimensions were 24.1 x 19 x 18.4 cm, these were only accurate at the front. The back was considerably smaller and the assembled battery wouldn't fit.

I ended up using an Ape Case camera bag, reinforced with some metal plating. See my build thread here:

thanks. i read your post before. and i saw that you did put 20s into the bag. i'm still not sure if the pelican 1300 also has different dimension between front and bag.
i know found this one: http://www.mantona.de/produkte/kamerataschen/mantona-orange-line-kameratasche
it's not hardcase, but i plan to weld an aluminium inner case where the battery will tightly fit. this can attached to the handlebar then.

You might also want to look at the Explorer range of case. Same as Pelican but different choice of sizes.

thanks. they don't seems to have such a highclass finish, but sizes may be a better fit:

276 x 200 x 170 - looks perfect.
