ice sheet losses in Greenland and Antarctica reach new highs

News from Greenland ...

The Orange Machiavellian Wannabe knows this. Putin and the OMW know very well the poles are melting (in fact, they are counting on it) and the extraction potential has them all in masturbatory anticipation -- damn the shit-holes of the rest of the world.

What's the chance that in one of his daily delirious states he orders the US Military to invade Greenland on trumped up charges (think Grenada)? Such a concept may read like a novel, but I wouldn't put it past him and his neocon advisors. How would Canada react? How would the EU react? What would happen to NATO? Putin is yanking away at the thought of it all.

UN IPCC caught promoting falsehoods about crop production and yields.

"Environmental activist groups, bureaucrats, socialists looking to transform Western society, and biased journalists continue to make climate claims that have no basis in fact."

Interesting. Who wrote that?
=========
James Taylor is Director of the Arthur B. Robinson Center for Climate and Environmental Policy at The Heartland Institute.
=========

Heartland Institute? What's that?

============
The Heartland Institute is an American conservative and libertarian public policy think tank founded in 1984 and based in Arlington Heights, Illinois. The Institute conducts work on issues including education reform, government spending, taxation, healthcare, tobacco policy, global warming, hydraulic fracturing, information technology, and free-market environmentalism.

In the 1990s, the Heartland Institute worked with the tobacco company Philip Morris to attempt to discredit the health risks of secondhand smoke and to lobby against smoking bans. Since the 2000s, the Heartland Institute has been a leading promoter of climate change denial. It rejects the scientific consensus on climate change . . .

Oil and gas companies have contributed to the Institute, including $736,500 from ExxonMobil between 1998 and 2005. . . .The Institute has also received funding and support from tobacco companies Philip Morris, Altria and Reynolds American, and pharmaceutical industry firms GlaxoSmithKline, Pfizer and Eli Lilly.

Sounds like Mr. Taylor is doing what his donors demand he do. As always, follow the money.

Gee, I wonder who the donors are that CNN is obeying in dismissing climate change protestors for being white? Gee, you don't suppose they're merely being as biased as you, do you?

Couldn't parse that angry rant. You got CNN, obey and racism in there, though, so you've checked all the required boxes for your ideology. Why not post it on Facebook where you will get a lot of likes from people like yourself? Will probably work a lot better than on a more technology-based forum.

Can't parse what isn't there, when there's neither anger nor rant. But of course your bias always gets in the way. (Look who's talking angry rant. You really doubt there are thinking people like me paying attention to the world on a technology forum?) I wonder how hard it is for you to think with your foot in your mouth. Not that you'd bother. Yeah, CNN is where the article is, racism is a problem I identify and you seem to hate when people notice racism, you little hater you.

Truth as ideology, there's an interesting notion. But you of course must oppose the truth to call it ideology. Most interesting that when CNN says that fighting climate change pales in importance compared to snowflake philosophy, you take that in stride.

When walking around outside in Melbourne I could basically smell snow, turns out it is snowing.
Why go to the northern hemisphere to go snowboarding when you can go snowboarding in the Victorian mountains during the official summer season.

The unseasonal chill has brought significant dumps of snow across the Victorian Alps, and falls as low as Mount William in the Grampians.

Snow resorts are reporting heavy dumps over the weekend. At Mount Hotham, there was 25 centimetres on the ground on Monday morning, with more snow expected throughout the day. Falls Creek recorded up to 20 centimetres and Mount Buller saw 18.

He snuck the "anti-white" meme in there too. I'd call it Thanksgiving stuffing.

After all these pages, some people still don't know the difference between local weather and global climate. Pretty sad state of affairs.

Yes, need to tell that to all those associating bushfires, drought, and “heatwaves” with climate change.
Some people dont know the difference between idealism, mass hysteria, and real science.!

Agreed.

Idealism - hoping humanity can do better than it is currently doing.
Mass hysteria - A condition where people in proximity to other hysterical people act irrationally and block out reality.
Real science - see "greenhouse effect" and "climate forcing."

Scott Adams Dilbert

Scott Adams has been pretty entertaining on Periscope/YouTube lately, swearing his head off in anger about stuff.
As far as I know, he has been taking Benadryl for allergies but it seems to affect him in entertaining ways as far as I am concerned. I am thinking about tweeting to him deliberately to encourage him to take more Benadryl.

These claims/estimations are not new, but fascinating none the less...
Australia's bushfires have emitted 250m tonnes of CO2, almost half of country's annual emissions

Warm ocean water blob of doom is coming to kill us all :lol:
Weird ‘hot blob’ appears near New Zealand
A massive “hot blob” has been spotted floating near our neighbours in New Zealand. Now experts have explained the strange phenomenon.

https://www.news.com.au/technology/environment/weird-hot-blob-appears-near-new-zealand/news-story/e5c53fe3eeb0796a86328b064731eb29

I found the site earth.nullschool.net where you can live lookup warm ocean water 'blobs' go here..
and click Mode -> "Ocean"
then click Overlay -> "SSTA", then just click the earth to snip it around to find your warm water blobs. Quite fascinating really...
I am hoping some of this increased warm ocean water blobs translates into more rain in Australia.

This URL should magically bring it all for you https://earth.nullschool.net/#current/ocean/surface/currents/overlay=sea_surface_temp_anomaly/orthographic=174.72,-31.07,349

Greenland icesheet melting accelerating. Likely to hit previous "worst case" melting scenario by end of the century. Was stable as recently as the 1990's but now suffering large net loss:

Even if you believe all our weather is based on co2 levels, lol, there is good news that we are studying our sun's activity on a level never before.
We are entering the Golden Age of studying our Sun
"There is no doubt that the observations and insight will be unprecedented."

Ice sheets in greenland stable as recently as the 90s lol. It's like the ice sheets haven't been retreating for the last 10,000 years or something.
Omg i can't stop laughing. This thread is a great laugh. "Climate activists" using NASA numbers, the same NASA that burns 1 MILLION pounds of fuel a launch lol. Oh it doesn't get much better than this. Having actually been to the ice pack in Alaska, where it snows over 400 inches a year. I can honestly say I'm not worried about glaciers. It's like saying your well is dry cause your faucet doesn't leak as much. Disney generation. Grew up brainwashed by Disney kids movies, then again by Disney pop music like britney spears, now again by Disney owned news. It's a miracle any of us made it through all the conditioning with any ability to think for ourselves.

Yes, climate scientists use facts, compared to deniers who use media prepared talking points.

You can smoke and not worry about lung cancer. Whether you worry or not is up to you. It is foolish, however, to smoke if a goal is living a long time. (And it is foolish to not worry about climate change if you have children, and want them to grow up in a healthy world.)
It's a miracle any of us made it through all the conditioning with any ability to think for ourselves.
Agreed. It is clear that you didn't make it. That's too bad.

Im the one who didn't make it yet you're the one who keeps on repeating the Disney agenda. Lol for hilarious.
