I am researching battery connectors to use in a backpack battery application. I like the idea of a sturdy non-locking connector, so that If I get off (or fall off) of the bike, the two ends will separate without incident.

The motor will be the Bafang BBS02 750W mid drive. Max current is 25A, though it will likely only pull that in peak bursts. These connectors are rated at 20A max. Could I safely use them in this application?

The cable will be 12 gauge.

thanks...

I may. Just looking for something a little more substantial. I've had andersons disconnect while in use unless secured with tape or a zip tie.

I would think that a 20A rated mains connector would be just fine at 25A low voltage DC, especially since it won't be continuous.
