Can anyone tell me what they think the best IGH would be for an SEV eTricks Evolution O01?

I plan on purchasing the bike somewhat soon now that Seattle E-Bike imports them from France. I will use the bike like a commuter motorcycle for short to middle distance rides to work and for fun. With 2,500W these things can do around 40mph apparently which is plenty.

I think that adding something like a Nexus, Rohloff, Nuvinci etc would increase both speed and performance along effiency to the battery pack.

Any advice? I know this bike is expensive and something like a Rohloff is expensive to but like I said I am treating this bike as my new green "motorcycle". I could buy a Zero or Brammo but I like the eTricks bikes because they are so light(comparatively) and easy to bring pretty much anywhere since they are about the same size as a MTB.

The chance's is a geared hub will not give you much more ( if any ) top end if you only have 2.5kw on tap but it will give you better torque with the lower gears ratio's so may make it a little more efficient.

The only thing I would be concerned about is , in the lower gear ratio's a geared hub may not be able to handle 2.5kw's input.

So would be the best setup for a bike like this?

There isn't much info about over clocking this bike at the moment, but if it was me, I would also be happy with a 40mph top speed as long as it got there at a reasonable pace, but I think it will be more like 35mph (tops ) but it will have fair to reasonable acceleration. So I would explore the possibilities of pumping more current through the motor, 2.5kw is reasonable power and torque as long as its geared for upto around 30mph to have it "reasonable" upto 40mph then you need around at least 4kw on tap but this is not going to be pull your arms out of there sockets type of acceleration , but what I think is good acceleration others may not agree, I think you will need to try the bike and ride it first to see if it meets your needs. I would love to own one of these bikes but I think i would want at least 5-6kw on tap if it was geared for a actual top speed of 40mph just to get the better acceleration. If you try the bike and dont mind loosing a bit of the top speed then I would re-gear it to more like 28mph top so @ 2.5kw it will make it a much more interesting ride without messing with the controller or motor.

did you see the for sale from the guy here in portland who was trying to sell his el moto ebike?
