Here is a new 48V kit I found. Wish I could afford it, looks cool anyway. Price of $399 including shipping is not to bad considering what your getting.

This link may expire tomorrow but should point to the new link if it does.

Seller is Don Allan in Boise, ID. Appears he used to sell WE kits and now is selling the New Hope Electric Vehicle Co. kits.

The site is a real slow loader so here is the link to the product page its self.

Seems they sell different types of powered kits because the page is for the 24V version which is what I was looking at originally and the ones he is selling are the same except they are 48V kits.

Would be great if Don would join the forum and tell us about his real life experience with this kit.

Yeah, the website is in China and they have very tight restrictions on how the Internet is used over there so it's no surprise the site is so slow.

Yeah, that would be wonderful!

I sent both Don and Roc at New Hope an email asking them to join the forum and share any information with us they would care to share. Hope they join, I see a lot of potential with these kits.

This is Don Allan. This is in reply to an e-mail Dan Whitehurst sent me
Yes I did sell more than 145 Wilderness Energy kits for a little over a year. Not a bad kit overall but the reason I stopped selling that brand was problems with components like chargers, controllers, thumb throttle. I had 2 chargers burn out myself. Other complaints from buyers were failed controllers etc. I did not want to sell kits to make a profit at the expense of my customers and have them frustrated with their purchases. I strongly believe in alternate forms of transportation to gas powered cars.
I found New Hope Vehicles to build a quality kit and wanted to do business with them. The owner Zhan Roc supplied me with alot of information before I made my purchase. They sell to countries other than USA so it was hard at first to get a lot of feedback. I have not been dissapointed with my choice. This is a quality kit I am proud to sell. I had a 48 volt kit designed as I wanted more range than the 36V. I wish there was a Nimh or li-ion battery available at a low cost. Glad to join the thread . Replys are welcome

Hi Don,

Glad you joined in. It is good to hear from someone that has first hand knowledge about the kits. I have a couple questions and I am sure others will also. Actually I have a lot of questions but will only ask 3 for now so others can ask something.

#1 - Can the batteries be easily removed from the bike for charging or do you need to charge them on the bike.

#2 - I was looking on my bike and it seems they hang the derailler off the bolt where the basket will need to attach. Will that cause a problem mounting on that side.

#3 - There appears in the photo to be a lot of cabling is that because the controller is mounted in the rear and if so could it be mounted up front like on the go-hub kits so only the power cable would have to make a single run forward.

Again thanks for joining the forum and I am interested in getting a kit if I can raise the funds. - Dan

Anyone need a oldie but good little Eska 5 hp outboard motor?

The batteries stay on the bike for recharge
The controller is attached to the bottom of the battery rack. Moving could done but not without some modifications
All cables come from the controller that is why there appears to be a lot of cables but install is very straightfoward and not cluttered as coming from different points on the bike
Don
