Saw this on FB Marketplace for $100. Would you take a gamble for a $100? From the size of the controller, it might be a beefy motor. Even if all the motor parts are duds, the frame looks neat, and I can just put my 9c motor and controller on there.

I hope thats a rock in the tread of the front tire and not a nail.

Looks well worth the $100 as long as the seller is reputable.

The seller also has this bike for sale. He said the bikes came from a friend who passed away. Having two bikes with the same uncommon frame is hopefully indication that these didn't come from a bad source.

Those are sick! Worth the money for the forks alone and then some. hopefully he didn't pass away riding the bikes

It looks like the rear needs a disc brake mount welded on; neither frame looks to have mounts. The 2nd bike has a motor that looks more suitable for a motorcycle or scooter.

I wish I could make out the name on the frame. The curly letters on the red plate is hard to read. It's a shame that the plate is missing on the first bike.

Any vague guesses on what motor and controller those are?

The lettering is not the usual cursive, so we can't match it to your cursive example. The letter "r" is pretty clear on the bike, but that's not the usual way to write a cursive "r". My best guess is "Carlani" but googling for that comes up with nothing.

The hub motor? No clue. The shafted motor is a brushed Briggs & Stratton Etek or one of the Mars brushless versions of the same.

Either motor is worth more than $100 used, if it works.

wow, I looked up the Etek motor. That thing is no joke. It is/was selling for $450. The necessary "3 Phase 8 Pole PMAC controller" isn't cheap.

The two a's don't look the same.

Cursive can be anything in any style, its like any font there is a million ways to write cursive.

An e-bike converted from a Phatmoto???

:D :bolt:
The second bike definitely looks like a phatmoto with its gas tank frame. One difference, though, is this frame is missing the disc brake mount inside the rear triangle that phatmoto uses

So yoyo did you get it ?

Good question. Hey Yoyo! Did you get it?

:D :bolt:

If so, he/she/it/what ever pronoun you want to use
is in the wrong forum
I bet the people over at mtbr forums would go from twitchy eyes on electric bikes to outright spaz attack on gas motor bikes

Bicycle + gas motor = You could make one yourself, the motor is $200-$250 if you want to go 4 stroke, comes in a kit, takes a few hrs to install, sold by many in usa but all from over sea's from over there. Just find the right bicycle to install it on, pretty simple stuff. Whatever bike you find, its probably a lot better then the $900-1200 crap listed.

By the way, ear plugs while riding will cost you $2.88 + tax

Plus good luck riding in parks, on pathways with that fumer annoying everyone.
One of the biggest reasons I went with electric, otherwise I would have purchased said $200 gasser and called it a day.

Same thread, SM posted a nice looking bike.
