Power surging only when pedalling? [CAV3 + Lyen 12fet]

I've noticed lately that when I am full throttle accelerating from a stop and pedalling at the same time that my power surges off/on briefly. Basically the motor cuts out completely for a brief moment less than a second.

How can I determine if this is caused due to the motor controller or CAV3 under these conditions?

No its perfectly fine then. I am thinking it may be a setting on the CA since I have it set to regulate throttle by current. Ramp up/down speed is fluctuating too much with each pedal pump?
