Probably the worst batteries i've ever encountered

Results from a quick capacity test of possibly the worst batteries i've ever tried, tested 3 of 6 batteries that cost about 800Aud with shipping, which took 3 months to arrive (and one of the packages was lost in transit, i actually paid for 8 )

Not one even reached 80% of advertised capacity, and all went dangerously out of balance under even small load. (Min test load .5A - Max test load 5A .5C )

(tested two batteries on RC charger discharge, and one with a 5A draw from two lightbulbs with meter in line & cell medic attached)

Battery Test
6S 30C 10,000Mah Lipo

BATT 1 - (0.5A slow discharge)
Start V = 25.2 Balanced (4.2,4.2,4.2,4.2,4.2,4.2) Advertised Mah = 10,000

TEST END V = 19.5 (3.7, 3.0, 3.10,3.15,3.18,3.43) (Test ended at 3.0V cell 2)
REAL Mah = 6509
Cell unbalance = 0.43V
Max Temp 33C

BATT 2 - (0.5A slow discharge)
Start V = 25.2 Balanced (4.2,4.2,4.2,4.2,4.2,4.2) Advertised Mah = 10,000

TEST END Voltage = 18.0 (2.8, 3.0, 3.16,3.15,2.9,3) (let cells drop under 3V to get to 18V)
REAL Mah = 6950
Cell unbalance = 0.43V
Max Temp 33C

BATT 3 (5A nom, 1/2 C discharge)
Start V = 25.2 Balanced (4.2,4.2,4.2,4.2,4.2,4.2) Advertised Mah = 10,000

TEST END Voltage = 19.4V (2.98,3.37,3.48,3.33,3.01,3.28) (test ended at 2.98V cell 1)
REAL Mah = 7600
Cell unbalance = 0.5V
Max Temp 37C

sorry i should have added, i cycled them from 4.2 to 3.5 avg (25.2- 21V) on all three bricks for 4 Cycles then re balanced before this test

i did use paypal, seller said they will refund me battery cost excl shipping if i ship them back at my expense as well lol
i spent nearly 1K aud so i will pursue it

a bit of an update though, after 3 more cycles on all the batteries to see if they would improve after some more use, one of them is now puffing right up, how lovely

When it comes to RC hobby cells I now only consider Hobby King and even that can be a crap shoot. But all in all, I think HK volume translates to generally better quality than smaller vendors.

Puffed cells and they are asking you to ship it back ? Sounds irresponsible.

Paypal understand that broken lipo can't be shipped. Few photo's and an explaination is all you need. Don't ship them, you may never sleep again.

Thats the risk you take using un validated sources.
When it comes to Lipo, most of us have long since learned that HK is the " Devil we know".
They have the products, the pricing, the service, and a working refund/return policy.
