Yeah, the Y frame is a bit dated and now reminiscent of cheap bikes, but i dunno, i don't think it's all that bad. My issue with optibike is the pricing.

The Mantis Flying V MTB that appeared in the late 1980s was the first monocoque Y-shaped bike frame I am aware of:

In 1989, that might as well have been an alien spaceship. I don't think it has aged very well, though.
