I bought this 15T timing belt pulley from Enertion (Looks like a standard McMaster Carr part or something) and it doesn't seem to be true. I'll link the video below. Is this normal?

Dont mind the bolt as a set screw. It was temporary.

Yeah my Enertion pulleys look slightly off also but seems to ride fine.

Make sure to have a well fitted keyway. It might be better for narrower motor mounts so the outside circlip can be attached.

Check out this way to tension the belt using a free guitar string tuner app.

I have played around with their recommendation to be between 220 and 260 hz and seems like a good guideline.

Anybody play with it? any opinions? The Metroboard belt is much thicker so maybe higher hz are in order for a thinner 9 mm belt?

I certainly wouldn't be okay with that. The pulley should be perfectly aligned.
It will ruin the motor bearings in the long run.

yeah now running DIY's new steel 16t pulleys

I think with the Enertion pulley's go with the thinner mounts and or longer shaft to get the outer clip on.

I think the flange on 14t Enertion pullley looks off very slightly but the gears look aligned.

That looks way off.

I think it's the little bit of free play that I have noticed and then the fastener is pushing it out.

If one of the pins was landing on top of the keyway it might then be correctly aligned.

That might make an interesting video to see it roll on a table.

I don't think so. He will probably want me to send it back and shipping it back to Australia is more than its worth.
