Torque Arm question

thats the perfect answer!!!!!!!! I would change from a set screw to a through bolt. I would also make it much thicker....
while your at it,, remove the hole at the top and add an arm there, with the ability to U bolt around the fork arm....

I don't think a set screw will stay tight long. There would be just too much force on the tip and the metal would deform.

I think you need to spread the force out over a larger surface area.

I was trying to think of a way to use wedges to clamp down on the flats. The wedges would be tightened by the axle bolt.

We just need the motors to be made with the torque arm integrated into the axle.

We kicked around a few ideas... many times.

Here's mine I did earlier this year. About 10mm thick, two different designs. I have around 300 miles on them now, and no signs of loosening. I used lock washers to prevent the screws from loosening. I also put a red mark on the screw, lock nut, washer and arm so I can make sure they are still lined up after time.
