Toward the end of range anxiety : introducing eBikeMaps

To be more precise in your planning, now, you can place unlimited "check points"on your trip simulation (previously limited to 10) 8).

We have also introduced a more accurate battery state estimation. It is not enable by default as it is slower. You can click on "Improve Simulation" to access more accurate results .

We have recently improved the POI management system :
-more marker types,
-possibility to attach an image,
-longer text,
-private (only you can see the marker) or public (visible for all).

Our goal is to make it easier to find locations to have a break (e.g. for lunch) while charging to allow longer rides with smaller batteries. We already have many points of charge in the Alps. We are in the process of increasing the POI density on eBikeMaps. If you know some ebike friendly locations where you can easily charge a battery, you can add them to your account and make them visible for all. Let us know if you are satisfied with the current interface :?:

Warning : you cannot edit information about previously introduced POI. You need to remove them and add them again. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I am way late on this topic, but I wanted to give a +1 for the Updike reference. DFW may have hated that book, but I enjoyed it immensely.

Also, this program is excellent, thanks for your hard work!

Thanks for the positive feedback :D. We have also recently introduced the possibility to choose unit system (meter or miles) in profile tab as it was suggested at the begining of the thread .

As there is more and more eBikeMaps users, we are now starting to develop community tools. There is now the possibility to discuss with each others. You can also give us your feedback in one click thanks to the new 'Feedback' button present on any pages.

Your feedback really matters to us and guides us for future eBikeMaps development .

Hi everyone,

eBikeMaps keeps evolving and this v1 keeps getting better and better.

We completely revised the trip planning interface:
- the menu is nice and clear
- the map size is maximized
- you can hide/show the panels to see more map surface
- the graphs are now looking nice and easier to read
- GPX import and export

We hope that you will enjoy this new interface.

In December we also launched a Badge & Progression feature to bring some fun in contributing to eBikeMaps, and also some rewards (eBikeMaps account improvements!).
You can read more about it on our following blog post: http://blog.ebikemaps.com/badges-and-fame/

If you want to help us, feedback is priceless for us, but you can also just like us on Facebook, or follow us on Twitter.

See you soon on eBikeMaps !

Hi, here are some news about our project:

First of all, eBikeMaps it's now 6000 members ! This number grows mostly by word of mouth, which means people like eBikeMaps and talk about it :)

Second, we revised our trip planning tool as we considered the following: instead of only predicting how much you will consume on a particular trip with your eBike,we thought that people wanted either to know if:
1. you can do your trip without worrying about the battery (even with full assistance)
2. you need to manage your battery power in order to arrive at destination
3. you need more than one battery, or to recharge on the way, in order to do your trip as planned

Cases 1 and 3 are easy, it's a simple go/no-go situation.
Case 2 is the most interesting and that's where eBikeMaps brings valuable information. Indeed on the map are displayed waypoints indicating the needed battery level (80%, 60%, etc) when passing by them.
You can therefore ride and adapt assistance/human power in order to respect those battery waypoints and be sure to arrive at destination.

More new stuff has been added to eBikeMaps (you can share outings, add comments, find bike partners, etc).

eBikeMaps became what it is because since the beginning users give us feedback on what they like/don't like/want/etc, so please feel free and welcome to tell us what you think about it. We know that there is room for lot of improvements, but your advices help us in prioritizing and defining a roadmap !
