yesterday, I was riding around during lunchtime and my 36v 12ah Silicone battery pack(30 lbs) flew off the rear rack @ about 15 mph..
It hit the street and tore up a stock battery bag. batts are scratched but ok.
I usually use a bungy cord or belt to help help hold pack. This time there was only the Velcro hooks and loops.
Given the poor suspension on my bike and the bumpy conditons, it just happened.
Do not trust velcro alone. that's the moral of the story. Use a belt, bungy cords etc.
fortunately, I was not in danger. but this is potentially dangerous.

Been there, done that too. It's a suprisingly stout bag for cheap, but the velcros are too narrow, and tear off, or just come undone easy. Bungee back up is a good idea, that I do now too.

I'm going to replace the bag. It is still ok except that the zipper teeth are ripped and canvas is torn in several areas. It's prob cheaper to get a craftsman tool bag, stuff it with dunnage, and tie it down good.
