I'm looking for a 26" 32 hole double wall rim brake rim that is between 32mm and 45mm ID wide and can't find anyone selling them. Something similar to one of these would be great.

Just need the bare rim, not whole wheel. Anyone know a place?

I've been buying my rims from Cycle Club Sports: http://www.cycleclubsports.com/c-69-rim.aspx. Takes about a week to get them using standard shipping and their prices are pretty competitive.

But I don't see those Weinmann's anywhere in a bare rim. You're going to have tough time finding bare rims with those requirements.

(I'm also noticing that prices change on this site. The Alex Supra D 26" Disc rims that I bought last month for $62.50 each are now $105.00 each. :D )

I recommend you PM Johnrobholmes both here and at holmes hobbies. He has built many wheels, so I'm sure he has a master list of a wide choice of parts.

I havn't found better pricing anywhere other than 2nds off from e-bay

Finally ended up buying 2 front wheels with Weinmann DH-39 rims. Stripped the rim off one of them and laced it on my rear hub motor. What a difference it made. They are 37mm outside and 32mm inside width. Spoke holes are offset a little, so no more bent/touching spokes at all. And no more stressed nipples because of the spoke angles with the hub motor. Not sure why that part works well. Maybe the eyelets. At least the wheel looks like a precision wheel now instead of having spokes bent at the nipples. The CST Cyclops 2.4 tires fit so much better now, and the ride even seems smoother with better control. Guess smoother makes sense since there's now more air volume in both tires. If your still riding on skinny rims you don't know what you're missing. Highly recommended for 2.0 and wider tires. They look good and give a more stable ride too.

Never could find bare rim anywhere, so bought 2 of these. Stripped the rim off one of them.

Any local bike shop worth their salt will be able to just order those rims directly off the J&B catalogue. If you just go in, act like you know what's up and ask if they can order parts from J&B. know what the list price is so they don't totally rip you off. I have a guy that does just 10% over list but most places should be able to do 30-40% hopefully. It helps to have a rapport already. I think they are about $40 for the wide ones in the catalogue so $100 would be way too much, but some places might try.

Of course your chances are better if you go to a small business instead of the big chain as the corporate places are fun snatchers a lot of the time with parts ordering, brands ect. And it's a judgment call as to if you want to mention its for a ebike. The guys I deal with are way cool about the electric thing but other places I've gone to have been instantly standoffish when I told them what I was doing. Now I just say I'm building a bullet proof bike and they're all about it.

Paid $33.xx for the whole wheel. Used 1 on front anyway. Probably cheaper this way in the long run. Never left house.

I'm thinking of getting the DM30 from them. It's closer in size to the Alex DM24 in cell_man's kit. But, Niagara charges more for the DM30 than the DH39!

The DM30 has the exact same dimensions (24mm inside width) of the rim I just replaced with the DH39. I wouldn't use a 24mm or smaller rim with any tire over 1.95. If you are using larger tires, do yourself a favor and get wider rims. The ride is smoother and stabler.
