Bafang Max M400 36V powering with 48v?

Hello,

I have bike with Bafang Max M400 36V motor & broken DP C07 display. I found same display but from 48V bike- will it work with 36V system?

And next question- what is needed for general system upgrade to 48V? I suppose controller needs to be changed? Battery not a problem. Any programming needed?
What would change in motor characteristics?
My main goal is to enhance power on higher speeds (30+ km/h on gravel)

I don't know if it applies to the M400...but other similar Bafang drives won't work unless you change the motor *and* controller, meaning replacing basically the entire drive unit. The display also appears to be matched to the display, and may also have to come with the drive as a whole set.

(this is for the 500/600...so parts swappability might be different to the 400, don't know, but given Bafang's history...wouldn't surprise me if the 400 was the same problems).

In Bafang web displays are marked as 36/48v, but no further info about marking. There are lots of displays on sale in web.
Therefore I suppose they must be programmed according to the battery & motor specs..
About specs of controllers there is even less info.
