    Ping charger question

Yes, I ordered the charger/battery from Ping. The charger has a 3 pin connector, and Ping sends the mate to the connector, but we have to connect the mate to the battery ourselves. Since I'm going to use Anderson Powerpoles to connect the battery to the bike, I've decided to cut off the 3 pin...

    Ping charger question

It just occurred to me that I can use my voltmeter to test the charger after plugging it in. That should work, right?

    Ping charger question

Hi gang. My Ping battery arrived today! I need to solder wires to the charger connector and I'm a little confused. In the attached doc from Ping it labels the 3 pins 3-2-1. The view seems to me to be from the side that will face the charger, since it shows the little notch thingy. However...

Prius Batteries - How to make them work

Powermed, very interesting, thanks for sharing. I'm thinking the 29V pack could be interesting to use on my 24V Walmart Ezip. Some folks are using 36V on Ezips but require extra techniques for cooling the motor, 29V might give a nice performance boost without this hassle. But I wonder how the...

    R. Martin L1

Wow, I just went back to that page and the price is now $799. I'm curious about that battery. Martin claims it's only 7 lbs, but it sure looks like this battery, which is 4.5-5.5 kgs (10-12 lbs): http://goldenmotor.com/batterypack.htm

retrofit Mongoose drive train to a decent bike?

Bob, doesn't the stock USPD motor include an internal controller? Does your Hi-Kol motor include an internal controller or would I need an external controller? If I can put together all of the parts I'd like to get one of the Hi-Kol motors from you.

retrofit Mongoose drive train to a decent bike?

OK, I'm REALLY confused now. On Feb 5th Scott wrote in an email to me: I have the motors and many of the USPD parts, but not the spoke interface assemblies. You will also need a controller and throttle with the motor! Bob wrote:

retrofit Mongoose drive train to a decent bike?

Lemmiwinks, thanks, but I've already checked with Scott at evdeals, he no longer has the spoke drive assemblies. I've heard some mixed reviews on how good the comfort bikes are. How suitable do you think they'd be for a 13mi (one way) commute which is fairly flat? (I'm in Texas.) I would...

retrofit Mongoose drive train to a decent bike?

Mathurin, thanks, but I went to TNCscooters.com and all I see there are scooter parts. can you be more specific? I checked out the youtube videa, are you sure that's the same as the Mongoose motor??

retrofit Mongoose drive train to a decent bike?

My first choice would be to install a USPD system on my current bike. That doesn't seem to be an option, and I'm not sure any of the hub systems will fit on my bike. I also like the idea behind being able to run on 24v with minimal battery weight. How similar is the drive train on the...

E-bike Hub (or otherwise) Motors - Where to buy them

Scott at evdeals still sells parts for the USPD, in fact you can put together a complete USPD kit from parts, but it'll cost more than the $450 the kit was going for. (I'm thinking about doing this...)

D-man, according to Scott at evdeals, Currie has stopped making the USPD kits. Dunno why he keeps it on the web site...

    Mongoose at 36v

Actually, I'd want higher speed, same range. I'm only interested in an e-bike as a commuter. Commute is 13mi one way.
