Idea for Copper/Nickel bus variation for high current (variation on infinite slot)

Thank you very much guys! I'm thinking I will order a Kweld and see what I can make it do :) Will also look at AliExpress for the pre-welded offerings. Last time I looked, most folks in that part of the world were enjoying Chinese New Year.

Idea for Copper/Nickel bus variation for high current (variation on infinite slot)

Yep, of course you are right Inanek :) I was thinking more about the busses being completely customisable diy, not that I explained that very well! I really shouldn't post things with covid-brain

Idea for Copper/Nickel bus variation for high current (variation on infinite slot)

Apologies if this has already been posted at sometime, but thoughts on this variation of the Cu/Ni sandwich? The thinking being: - The nickel tabs distance from cap to copper bus are very short - The weld/s could be made with each of the probes across each cell's tabs (diagonally), hopefully...

"Copper/nickel sandwich" buses for series connections

As said multiple times - great thread! Hey ta0s - did you end up using those Aliexpress sourced nickel/copper links? I'm only needing to pull a max of 25Amps per cell, but those links do look like an easy to weld solution.

Resources for building the Lebowski open-source motor controller in 2020?

Dui, if you meant to write 72V & 600A that's ~43kW. Think you would be better off looking at the Axiom 100kW controller. Got to say though 600A - your motor windings must be hefty!

Resources for building the Lebowski open-source motor controller in 2020?

Great to see continuing tweaking, thanks Kiwifiat. Looking forward to hearing how the new brain boards go :) Enjoyed watching your YT vid from a couple of weeks ago. Those motors spun up very nicely :thumb: My interest in the Bas Lebowski controller (can we call it "BLC" for short? :D ) is...

Resources for building the Lebowski open-source motor controller in 2020?

Thanks John. I don't know about a derail, but you are leaning pretty heavily on the track-switch  Probably better that you cut-n-paste your post into a separate topic on FOC. And I'll see if I can edit my topic heading to more accurately represent what I was trying to ask for :)

Resources for building the Lebowski open-source motor controller in 2020?

While researching DIY motor controllers for a project, I have (of course) found the Bas Lebowski controller. Sorry this is going to seem obvious for many, but for those like myself living under a 'DIY ESC rock', this controller has an amazing heritage and abundance of posts and threads. Also Mr...

Thread for new battery breakthrough PR releases

Aluminium-Air Flow (primary) battery - Fundamentally an old science but with a new twist: www.eurekalert.org/pub_releases/2018-10/unio-ncf101118.php http://sustainableskies.org/the-17x-aluminum-air-battery/ An Israeli start-up company, Phinergy, have been working on commercialising the tech...

too long battery wires will kill controllers

Hi Can someone please comment? Would these capacitors (5 in parallel) be suitable for smoothing the ESC input to a 14S 140A system...? https://nz.rs-online.com/web/p/aluminium-capacitors/0571268/ Panasonic FC Series Type A electrolytic capacitors offer a high endurance, low impedance solution...

Turnigy Multistar - lightweight 10C cells

Yep, coming across loud and clear. Sounds like no hope to consistently get 9C out of them. Further reading on this forum is giving me the message of 5C max from these guys. Guess I'll look go back to looking at 20C packs.

Turnigy Multistar - lightweight 10C cells

Hi Guys - looking at these for a hang glider prop drive and I see there is a couple of years experience on this board now for the 10C MultiStars. What would the consensus be for absolute max C use? I'm looking at the 6S 5.2AH packs in a 3Sx3P and want to get up to 140Amps - I think I might be...
