I would guess the trailer has about 50 lbs ( capacity is 32kg or 70 lbs) on it right now. (tent, sleeping gear, clothes etc). I am still working on being able to make coffee in the morning, which may add some weight. This is a bit a test trip as I have cycled with gear many times before, just...
Ian,
I am currently on a bit of a tour. I am heading Durham, NC to Ocracoke Island and the Outer Banks north to Manteo NC. All told I will have logged 700 or so miles once I return to Durham. I have a 250 watt front motor and a 36v15A LiMn battery. I did consider a 2nd battery as i have a...
D8veh,
Good call, and I agree. I actually have the battery strapped down through holes in the trunk bag, so it really does not move at all. The weigh is not too bad ( a little high and too far back but not dangerous feeling) but I can see how having it closer to the center would help. Today I...
Here's a couple of pics if anyone is interested. I have put over 30 miles a day on for the past 2 weeks and it has been a blast.

Ouch! hope you had insurance ? Is it just the screen ? not a recommendation but there are replacements available http://www.aliexpress.com/products/galaxy-note-replacement-screen.html
I tried using my phone the last couple of days but GPS runs the battery down fast. I ordered a Sigma BC 506 to...
DewJunkie,
cool! I am on my 3rd day (25 miles round trip) and I plan on riding everyday if possible. I am actually moving from a scooter to the e-bike. Thanks for all your help!
Top speed today was 32mph and average moving speed was 18.0!
The order I placed recently for a battery/controller went well.
They updated the order as it progressed and once it hit DHL I had access to real-time data regarding the delivery.
Everything arrived as expected and took about 2 weeks.
MD,
thanks for the reply/update. Yes, the small black connector on the hub is one I was trying to match for clean look but solder sounds like a simple solid way to go.
I haven't soldered in a while but I think i could manage. Do you recall the gauge of the small HS wires ? they look 24 or...
I think the HS connector on the hub matches this connector http://www.electricrider.com/crystalyte/x-plug5m.htm, if I get this connector http://www.electricrider.com/crystalyte/x-plug5f.htm and it doesn't match, no worries I should be able to replace the connector on the hub with the one above...
D8veh,
So for the battery power to controller power, I just need to change the molex style connector on the controller to Anderson connectors which were provided, I think I will need a Tricrimp to do this properly.
Does the 9-pin cable on the link you provide phase (3 wires) and hall sensor (5...
MD,
did you ever get the hall sensors hooked up ? I have the KU65 and it appears the motor/controller will not run w/o the hall sensors connected.
I am still trying to figure out what type of connector is on hub for the hall sensors.
Also what cable did you run from the controllers 3 phase...
D8veh,
I don't mind changing the connectors to match but other than the Anderson connectors (crimper $40 plus connectors) I still don't know what I need for the hall sensor connector or the other cables.
it looks like either a d-sub 5 pin or something else (another crimper @ $30 plus...
